Week of Money: Where I watch “You People” and think it’s a nice start

DAY ONE

6:18 a.m. — I had Little Bun take the Grit Scale test, and he got 4.00 out of 5.00. I told him it is normal for him to find different interests and things. He was pretty excited, and answered definitively for all the questions about working hard.

DAY TWO

11:25 a.m. — I watch this movie You People on and off, and I liked it, but I wish mainstream media would feature more cultures and diversity beyond what I am used to – Christianity, Judaism. I want to see Muslim, Shinto, Buddhist, and other religions featured – What they do, what modern children who are Taoist for instance, do, and things they struggle with that may be unique.

I would love something more than what I have already seen and know a lot of. You know? NEW STUFF PLEASE.

This movie went into some of it, but it was very very light, versus what I know of Muslim religion and rituals, as in praying 4 times a day, things they eat or do not eat, and how one of my friends told me that she wouldn’t ever be able to afford a home because they do not believe in credit or mortgages, and can only pay cash for things as part of her beliefs.

It was very interesting, and I wish I could see more of this, normalized and taught in mainstream media. That’s all.

DAY THREE

7:40 p.m. — We spend time together.

DAY FOUR

4:08 p.m. — Little Bun is working on a huge comic strip. He has gotten into them ever since reading Big Nate, and other comic strips. He has come up with a story about The Weather Report Man. He is on chapter 20 now, and I am excited because when he finally finishes, I would love to bind them all into a book for him with a hard cover. How cute would it be!?

DAY FIVE

6:48 a.m. — Our sink is clogged again. It’s all the grease that gets trapped in these weird pipes that are not carefully implemented, and FRANKLY.. I feel like they made it difficult so you have to pay people to come and declog it for you because it’s impossible without equipment.

We spend the night plunging the sink, pouring hot water down…

DAY SIX

9:25 p.m. — I got called at 8 p.m. for an emergency. I logged in, and I did not get to log off until now. OMG.

DAY SEVEN

2:16 p.m. — Little Bun logs down things we do as a family. Daddy cooks, Mommy cleans, Little Bun does cutlery… and he is very excited to list out our tasks and duties, and to make us all sign it to agree that we think it is fair and everyone is doing their fair share.

6:17 p.m. — I have a To Do list piling up because of work. I need to start ignoring things and stop taking on more than I can handle.
