Vanity Fair – My Stuff Q&A: Meant for famous people but.. y’know

Most of the links below are to my Instagram photos if you are curious about seeing the actual product/thing.

TECH STUFF

Favourite gadget: iPod Touch. I organize my entire life on this thing with the ToDo App by Appigo
TV shows you binge watch: So many. I don’t even know how I get anything done. Castle, Elementary, Mad Men, The Good Wife, Top Chef, Sherlock, The Mentalist, Suits, Project Runway, Modern Family & Game of Thrones.
Go-to website: Etsy. *hangs head* I’m always on there.
Song in your head: Beatles – I Will
Recent Google search: When will my toddler speak
Are you on IG/Twitter: What is IG?.. Oh. Instagram. Yes. Yes I am. & Twitter too.
Car: Nondescript SUV. Anything smaller than that is asking for trouble in these winters.
Wristwatch: Fossil – Watch Bar – I took the simple 30mm men’s watch face & a black leather watch band.

CLOTHES

Jeans: AG Stilt Jeans or Citizens of Humanity Poison Skinny Jeans
Undergarments: Eberjay and Hanky Panky
T-shirt: The Gap
Day bag: I go back and forth but I have a soft spot for my random cognac satchel purchase from Paris & my current love is my Matt & Nat Kintla satchel in Nature
Favourite accessory: Any of my necklaces.
Favourite designer: Sophie Theallet, Christian Siriano, Marchesa, & Oscar de la Renta.
Shopping mecca: Aritzia, Espace Pepin, Consignment shops
Boots: Frye
Flats: TBD. I have not found the perfect pair yet. Lanvin? Chloe? This is what I’m wearing today and these ones too.
Sneakers: Converse but I actually.. don’t wear them at all. I’m thinking I’ll donate these.

INSPIRATIONS

Favourite scent: Anything my partner bakes or cooks, Baby Bun waking up from a nap & freshly laundered clothes
Favourite discovery: Baby Bun. All day, everyday.
Who inspires you: My mother. Cheesy but true. She has gone through so much & has never lost her spark or spirit.
Necessary extravagance: Matcha green tea in the mornings without fail.
Favourite place in the world: Home. If you mean internationally, Amsterdam for its laidback calm, Hong Kong for its dynamic energy, Barcelona for the architecture, NYC for shopping, Paris for eating & London for their culture.
Favourite charity: Canadian Cancer Society.
Favourite movie: Two Days in Paris. It has sentimental meaning for me. My other favourite is The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Favourite hotel: The Tiara Park Atlantic Lisboa in Portugal. Or any Marriott Residence Inn. I’ve stayed in so many…
Favourite colours: Cobalt blue, Fuchsia/Magenta, Navy Blue, White and Pearl Grey. My entire wardrobe reflects this.
Fashion idol: Olivia Wilde

HOME

Where do you live: In French Canada, specifically Montreal.
Favourite in house art: Don’t have any yet. When we buy a place I’m planning on choosing a few of our photographs and hanging it up as art.
Sheets: The Bay’s Distinctly Home.
Luggage: Samsonite Spinners. I just hate that you can’t lock the wheels while you’re on moving vehicles (buses, trains, etc)
China: Not sure if this counts but all of our plates & cups come from Apilco made in France.
Stationery: Whatever’s at Indigo. Right now it’s this for cards and I bought these beautiful flower printed cards too.
Pet: I’m allergic to all of them.
Favourite flowers: Peonies, Orchids, Lotuses, and Lavender
Favourite neighborhood restaurant: Right now Pho Bac 97 in Chinatown. $10 for a great bowl of pho.
Favourite cocktail: I don’t drink.
Favourite dessert: Macarons, eclairs, tarts….I could go on. I really like choquettes too. Can’t find them here.
Snack: Nuts and French or Swiss cheese.
Coffee table book: Anything by this duo.

BEAUTY

Lips: If I remember, I really like NARS Rikugien (the lighter natural pink one)
Mascara: Annabelle Big Lash Mascara
Concealer: dear my muse concealer from Korea
Foundation: Pure and Simple’s Creme powder as a dusting but I really am in love with Ambient Hourglass powder in Dim
Shampoo: John Masters Organics Zinc & Sage Shampoo which I make last by mixing it with John Masters Organics Bare Shampoo (it’s slightly cheaper)
Moisturizer: Jurlique wins hands down for hand cream but for the body, I really like this one
Hair product: Water and my hands.
Soap: Right now I’m interviewing possible brands. TBD.
Perfume: I wear lavender essential oil but I like mixing it on occasion with Clean Warm Cotton
Toothpaste: Earth Paste.
Nail polish colour: I don’t wear nailpolish but when I get my feet done, I like Essie’s Ballet Slippers.
Who cuts your hair: Whoever I happen to feel like patronizing that day on Yelp.
Skin care specialist: Myself + lots of books + bloggers + good friends.

I’ll be adding an additional $100,000 to my net worth this year.

Psst! I’m on vacation but am still scheduled daily.

So frustrating. I think I fixed the comments now.

All right you need to watch Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries all on Netflix. It’s an Aussie murder mystery show, set in the 1920’s.

I try not to bingewatch, but some shows are so awesome! My most recent discovery is Ripper Street – I’ve only seen a few episodes so far but I like it a lot. It’s a bit bloody, but if you’re watching Game of Thrones, it can’t get any more bloody/death than that.

@Corianne: I will take a look at it. If it’s murder mystery, fashion or food, I’d be interested.

The Budgeting Tool

About Me

I am a wealth-obsessed, style-focused, minimalist.

I got out of $60,000 of debt in 18 months with The Budgeting Tool which I now sell online and donate its net proceeds to charity, along with The Investing Tool.

I've also authored two books: Start a Blog Like a Boss - Making $1000 USD a month & Invest your Money Like a Boss - In 4 Hours a Year.

I earn like a princess when I work but am trying hard to live like a duchess instead by not spending all of it.

The rest of the time I relax and enjoy the time off by traveling, although traveling has been on hold lately with the arrival of Little Bun, my rambunctious, ever-hungry little boy.

Welcome.
