It is cornstarch. No need to add any baking soda, or cocoa powder to make it smell better or whatever.

Plain old cornstarch.

Just throw it into a tiny salt and pepper shaker, shake some onto your hands, kind of smear it around your palms lightly, then work your fingers through your hair and scalp.

Then brush brush brush it out — you will see white flakes come out from the cornstarch grabbing onto the oils of your hair in my case..

After a few rounds of this (depending on how greasy your hair is to begin with), it is as if you have day-old hair rather than 2-day old hair. It is great for oily scalps like mine, perfect for getting fluff back into your hair in a pinch, and doesn’t leave white streaks or anything.

But the very absolute best thing of all?

No perfume.

No extra very-specific things to buy of YET ANOTHER beauty product marked up to $20 a can.

No aerosol.

Nothing to get throw away after it has been used up.

Easy to travel with (it isn’t a liquid and it isn’t an aerosol).

Easy to use, with just a few minutes.

Done and dusted.
