What are your comfort foods?

I was thinking the other day about what foods comforted me….. and I came up with a very weird hodge-podge list:

Steak.. Really rare, barely cooked steak covered in mushrooms and gravy with onions..

Really creamy pastas with bacon, and LOTS OF CHEESE….

Vietnamese pho with tendons, raw beef.. the whole shebang..

Chirashi … this is just raw fish on top of white rice and some vegetables

Unagi Don .. this is BBQ Eel on top of white rice but I love the sauce.

This cheese pizza my partner makes with blue cheese…

And pork belly dishes. This is a fancy version a chef friend made for us in Paris:

What do you crave?

Sherry of Save. Spend. Splurge.

Am my own Sugar Daddy. Am a millionaire at 36 after getting out of $60K of student debt in 18 months, a little over a decade earlier, using TheBudgetingTool.com. I have worked 50% of my career (taking 1-2 year breaks), and quadrupled my income within 2 years of graduating, going from $65K to $260K with an average lifetime savings rate of 50%. I have 11 side incomes that are on track in 2020 to make me $50K - $75K. I could retire today if I wanted, but love my work-life balance as a freelancing consultant in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). I am all about balance - between time and money, and also enjoying my money. I also post daily on Instagram @saverspender.

Tomato soup, definitely. Maybe with grilled cheese if I’m hungry.

Coca-Cola. I drink it rarely, but it’s my guilty pleasure/treat.

I tried drinking Coke lately but then got a massive headache.. caffeine in it perhaps?

Probably the caffeine if you never drink coffee or other caffeinated beverages.

There’s sugar in a coke (I drink the ones made with real sugar), but in one Coke it’s no more than if you were to eat most desserts, so that’s probably not it.

Agree with your comfort foods 100%
Only thing I would add for nostalgic reasons would be a lovely German cake with fruit, streusel and a yeasty base. With coffee, of course.
    Great, now I’m hungry.
