Travel Help: How and what to pack for traveling with a toddler

DURATION OF VACATION: 2 weeks

We are going for a short little trip to see how things go. If all goes well, I’ll do more trips with Baby Bun, perhaps solo.

EVENT-SPECIFIC ITEMS

BAGS

MEDICINE

  • Motion sickness patch (the only thing that works for traveling)
  • Aspirin (in case of headaches and pain)
  • Fermented fish pills

BABY BUN ITEMS

  • MacLaren Triumph Stroller (super light, foldable)
  • Baby Bun’s cuddly toy (which we can easily replace if lost)
  • Baby Bun’s travel blanket to comfort him (we use it in his stroller)
  • 1 bottle to drink water on safely & to help with his ears during takeoff and landing
  • Flash cards (he loves letters and counting right now)
  • 2 books in a box and wrapped like a present (to keep him occupied & to let him open his new gifts on the plane)

WHAT I AM NOT BRINGING TO KEEP THINGS SIMPLE

  • Any kind of jewellery; I’d rather not lose it
  • Toys we cannot replace for The Bun who is sure to lose things

WHAT I PLAN ON DOING BEFORE LEAVING

  • Plucking my eyebrows
  • Shaving
  • Cutting The Bun & my nails
  • Doing a fresh coat on my nails in Zoya’s Avril which is the perfect nude polish
  • Sanding down my feet with my Amope Pedi

TIPS ON KEEPING TODDLERS OCCUPIED ON THE PLANE

  • Wrap their toys so that they open their ‘presents’ on the plane
  • Bring familiar items — baby bottle, blanket, a stuffed toy
  • Bring books / flash cards to read and entertain them with

ANY TIPS FROM PARENTS WHO HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE?
