I HAVEN’T BEEN BUYING MUCH LATELY
Proud? 🙂 Or disappointed? I haven’t purchased any clothes, or things. The most frivolous I got, was a set of 5 chopsticks for $3 (made in Japan, not China) from Pearl River Mart. 
Otherwise, I repurchased a staple toiletry: Korres White Tea Fluid Gel Cleanser for $21 (on my 4th bottle now!). I’m also pleased that they finally fixed the bottle. The last design exploded all over my fingers when I tried to squeeze out the cleanser, and I was not a happy camper.
Other things I bought:
- Stamps (yawn)
- Medication for my eczema (yawn!)
- Eyedrops
- Mixing bowls (set of 3)

IN OTHER NEWS, I GOT A CREDIT CARD!
Love me some TD Bank. I’m having a newfound respect for them. They approved me for a credit card. No prepaid strings attached and I am thrilled beyond belief. FINALLY. A U.S. CREDIT CARD!!!!!!!!!

Yes! $10k which is more than enough. Every time I use it, I pay the exact amount in full.

I’m jealous! My highest limit is $1,000. After I get the mortgage, I’m going to try to fix that… It’s so annoying to book flights and such.

My max on my debit is $1000 but it sucks when I have to book everything 4 weeks in advance!!

Business trips are the reason why I originally started with such a large cash buffer 🙂 I had to front about $5,000 for a month-long trip a few months after I started working and didn’t get any of it back until a couple weeks after I got back.
I haven’t needed my cash buffer for that in ages though, but I still like having a nice buffer.

My buffer is more $10k these days because of how far I have to book in advance to get the best deals. Nevertheless, a buffer of at least $2k is what I need for my spending each month.

Oooh I didn’t know Bar Boulud had macarons. I’ve had the Laduree macarons in Geneva but not here in the US yet.

The Bar Boulud has 4 flavors — Raspberry, Vanilla, Pistachio and Orange Blossom.
I had the Pistachio and Orange Blossom — very yummy!!!

Woot at getting a credit card! Did you get an acceptable limit? I’ve tried to keep my card utilization ratios to about 10-20% while I’m building credit. I won’t be nearly as anal about that once I get a mortgage.
