Save. Spend. Splurge.

How and when do you shop for clothes?

Online, in a fit of stress, or at work during my breaks.

Or when I am bored which has been my modus operandi lately, and I have broken that streak (thankfully).

Online mostly is where I shop these days because I have access to Poshmark in the U.S. through the generosity of my American friends who are willing to accept and re-ship items up to me <3

I mostly go on eBay, Poshmark, Etsy, and browse items… I look for specific pieces I wish I had purchased but couldn’t justify, and if they pop up, I buy them.

I also like to go in-store (I get these urges to window shop) which causes a LOT of shopping trouble for me because then I see the item, touch it, and want it. REALLY WANT IT. And then I buy it, and feel bad about it afterwards but secretly enjoy wearing the piece.

To stop all of that nonsense as I do not need MORE clothes, I have started just avoiding shops in-person. I also stopped all the emails from gateway shopping retailers that make it so easy to shop like Banana Republic, and I try not to read style blogs any more to want things.

I’m steeling my inner resolve, and working on my discipline to NOT buy every pretty item I see. So far, it is working and I am quite happy.

I have yet to come across any kind of event or picture that I did not have the perfect outfit(s) for. I seriously, have EVERYTHING. The only things I am currently missing as “holes” are:

  • A great pair of black heels — I sold my old pair but now I sort of want to replace them..
  • A red dress – lipstick red, perfect, and ideal for the office and going out. Have yet to find what I am imagining

That’s about it. I own everything else.

What about you?
