Things I saw and didn’t buy lately… February 2026
I am not sure if I will do this regularly, but I saw it pop up from Belle of @h.f.ford on Instagram (one of my favourite people ever, really, truly lovely), and she does this regular post where she screenshots things she liked and saw, but then didn’t purchase. Kind of like influencing but in reverse. She writes a short caption of why and I feel like these are almost just as fun to flip through as actual shopping posts, to be honest!
So here goes…
Dolce & Gabanna Leaf Purse
I love leaves. I love nature prints, fruit prints on things.. I am a fiend for them. I saw this and immediately went WOW! *hearts in eyes* But then I calmed down because I just really like the print, but the bag itself may not be my vibe (I would need to touch it to know), and anyway, I would rather take a bag that I already own and don’t use often and upcycle it by painting on it.
Dilling Wool Leggings
I already have wool leggings. But I like wool leggings. So I wanted more. Then I looked closely and realized it was almost see-through which means I am sticking to my old merino wool leggings, as I do not need any more. But I was tempted!
Boden Mayfair Cropped Trench Coat
OK who wouldn’t love this swing trench coat? The rainbow stripes down the back when it opens? ADORBS. But I passed (it was secondhand), because I wouldn’t reach for it as often as it is quite colourful and would need a more neutral outfit, and I already have a really oversized cropped camel trench coat from Zara (before I realized how awful they are, and I am boycotting them), that would do the trick just as well, maybe better as I customized it with leather cuffs from another old trench coat.
A.W.A.K.E. Mode rib button sweater
I am a sucker for all things white or cream, and oversize/draped and cosy. But this pricetag is ridiculous. Not for a sweater. Plus it is also off the shoulder on both sides (not super flattering for me), and I already have a similar Reiss Lara ribbed sweater that I love and does the trick.
FeetUp Yoga Inversion Chair
I desperately want to be able to do handstands. I can do headstands but not handstands and I thought this chair might help.. but in the end, I should first get back into more regular yoga and longer sessions before I attempt headstands, and handstands again. This would just be a chair that I would use maybe twice and then never touch again.
Métier Private Eye Bag
I love this bag. I think it is perfect for carrying laptops, being oversized and yet so functional and cute. Except.. this is not secondhand (OUCH at the price tag), and the canvas is not my thing. I would rather have it in a smooth leather, and even so.. do I really need this bag?
I already have a ton of bags that can double as larger bags, totes or laptop bags. I just like it because of how practical it is, but ultimately, I don’t need it (I don’t even go to the office any longer).
Lisa Says Gah Tapas Cropped Shirt
I love food printed things, fruit things.. as you may know. So this top totally tugged at my heart strings, but I decided to just pass it on by, and if I really feel like I need something like this, I will attempt to embroider an image on a shirt instead, and make it instead of buying it.
Songmont Duffel Bag
Alexa Chung is terribly good at selling. I really wanted it, and I have heard very good things about this brand, but I do not need another brown leather bag, let alone a duffel. I have a ton of them, I should actually be upcycling more of them or selling them, to be honest.
I am also trying to not carry larger bags these days (back issues), and this would just be silly for me.
Muun Straw Bag
HOW CUTE IS THIS BAG????? I am a sucker for straw bags for the summer, and I was immediately sucked into the idea of this bag with the large oversized cotton ribbons going up the sides and wrapping the handles. But even secondhand, they want $300. So I will pass. I cannot pay $300 for a straw bag, no matter how cute it is.
I don’t even care about the brand, I just like how it looks… But no way am I spending $300 secondhand on this.
