In the world of Save. Spend. Splurge.: Are you experiencing lifestyle creep?
1. LIFESTYLE CREEP
I definitely have experienced lifestyle creep over the years. No doubt.
When did you decide to join all these subscription services? Have you always shopped online so frequently? When did you go from batch-cooking dinner to getting sushi delivered?
Without much thought, all these charges add up to a much larger bill at the end of the month. This uncomfortable growth is called “lifestyle creep” or “lifestyle inflation,” and it happens when you have access to more money.
For years, I loathed paying for parking, and now I will throw money at it, where needed. I don’t feel as much of a pang when I do. I still try to look for free parking areas, but now I pay for convenience of where to park.

3. THRIFT LOVE
I am loving that thrifting is coming back into fashion, and becoming a REAL THING. Secondhand is my best kept secret. I wish I had discovered it years ago, you can get such wonderful items for high quality, for a fraction of the original price.
I shop mostly on Poshmark and eBay. Use Poshmark code SHERRYISH for a credit when you sign up. I love Poshmark.. a lot. You can find the most amazing one of a kind items on there, or vintage pieces that aren’t made any longer.
4. BIRKS
How adorable are these rose gold Birkenstocks!? I absolutely love them. And they’re very comfortable, which helps immensely.
5. OPENING MILLIONS
The Hermès store in Wuhan opened with $4.4M made in sales. In one day. The wildest part? It was from 50 VIP customers who visited to shop. FIFTY PEOPLE. That’s an average of $88K per person spent in a day, though if you know how much these bags cost, it is a drop in the bucket. It’s basically 1-3 bags.
6. DESK LAMP
I have been trying to find a chic desk lamp for a while now, and I may have found it. This organic shape just speaks to me. They’re simple, and stylish without being over the top trendy.
7. TOXICITY
PFAs. This is an acronym you should learn as it’s in EVERYTHING and it’s a forever, toxic chemical. Think takeout containers, plastic, nonstick pans, and the like. It’s quite scary if you think about children ingesting this, and keeping it in their bodies for years to come, rather than plastic only having made a relatively recent debut for people. Now babies are being born with microplastics already inside of them, and no doubt, PFAs.
8. TRASH PANDA
I won’t lie, I still sort of want this trash panda lamp as my desk lamp, but the lamp itself is not covered which is an issue for me because I can’t help but stare into it like a moron, and burn my retinas.
