WHAT I READ
BENEATH THE KEEP
[ FANTASY, THRILLER, MEDIEVAL, ROMANCE ]
This was just another book in her superlative series The Queen of the Tearling. I absolutely adore this entire series.
The Bullet that Missed
[ MYSTERY, MURDER, HUMOUR ]
I love this series. The detectives are seniors, and they are so… FUNNY. Witty more like, and absolutely the kind of senior I can only hope to become in the future. The Thursday Murder Club Mystery series is just excellent.
Count of Monte Cristo
[ CLASSIC, MYSTERY, REVENGE ]
Nothing better than reading this book over again. I already knew the story, I had seen it in movies, but I cleared my mind and enjoyed it. The ending was a little disappointing to be honest.
From Blood to Ash Series (Books 1-4)
[ FANTASY, THRILLER, MEDIEVAL, ROMANCE. YOUNG ADULT ]
I devoured these books. DEVOURED. I ignored my family for 2 days, devoured them, and then screamed at the end of Book 4 because I realized there are 2 more books to be released next year. At least by book 4, it left off at a good point and did not leave off at book 3. I have at least that as a consolation.
Flesh and Fire Book Series (Books 1 and 2)
[ FANTASY, THRILLER, MEDIEVAL, ROMANCE. YOUNG ADULT ]
Same author as above, excellent as usual, but these books cover the prequel saga of what happened. So if you read the other series first, you’ll know the ending and be less angry that you are waiting for book 3 to release next year so you can finish and find out what happens. I am looking forward to rereading all of this again next year so that I can remember what happened.
Covenant Series (5 Books)
[ DARK MAGIC, VAMPIRE-Y, FANTASY, THRILLER, ROMANCE. YOUNG ADULT ]
I tried to read her other series but I am not cut out for it. The books feel too young, not well fleshed out or formed, and frankly, I am disappointed. I will stick with her fantasy series above, it is far better than her other works, which is kind of sad because I thought I would have a treasure trove of books to read from her 🙁 Avoid.
(I forced myself to finish it because I just had to know what happened but it was just.. blecchh throughout. Like eating plain, unseasoned, boiled, cabbage.)

Hi Sherry, have you read the Inspector Gamache mystery series by Louise Penny? I quite enjoy it and it’s set in Quebec.
