Year of 2016: What I bought – The Missing Edition

Umm…. Yeah.

I bought a lot more than I thought.

See, I started going through my closet and realized I completely spaced on a lot of pieces.

During the whole year, this is all the additional stuff I have purchased but for some reason, never posted on the blog (or maybe only on Instagram).

WHITE OPHELIE PANAMA HAT – $125

AUSTRALIAN MADE UGG QUEEN HOUSE SLIPPERS – $149

I loved the pair I got last year so much for winter (warm, cosy, comfortable), that I wanted a pair for the house during winter (my feet get really cold and even with wool socks on, I want WARM TOASTY FEET).

Now, the returns!

[RETURNED] ALL SAINTS EVE LUX STEEL GREY JEANS

These jeans are TIGHT. LIKE SUPER TIGHT.

I wear a 27 in Citizens of Humanity and AG jeans. I even have to tailor in the waist a little.

I took the 26 in Grace jeans (mid-rise), and they were sausage tight. I tried to go up a size but there were none left, so I just sold the jeans.

These Eve Lux Jeans are high-rise, I tried the 27 and they were SAUSAGE TIGHT. I had to jump up and down to get the jeans on.

I tried a 28. They’re STILL TIGHT.

I tried the 29. They are now acceptably loose in the legs, but the waist is a little fitted.

I would need a 30 to be comfortable and then take in the waist.

TAKE 3 SIZES UP from your normal size to fit in them comfortably and take in the waist.

The quality however, is great. They’re thick, they’re soft, and I am really pleased with them.. they are just FREAKING TIGHT.

I ended up returning them because the grey was also a bit too concrete-y for my liking.

[RETURNED] ALL SAINTS KHAKI GREEN BELT

I took the XS in this because I am a sucker for waist belts and I want to belt everything I own, forever.

It is a nice khaki green that is darker, and goes nicely as a neutral amount.

Except that the XS doesn’t fit my waist, and my waist is tiny (I am normally a US 4). I would have needed a Small, even a Medium to comfortably belt it around my midsection. the XS, I could barely get it to fit around my waist, it was like some torturous corset belt.

[RETURNED] ALL SAINTS PEAK DRESS IN SORBET PINK

On a whim, I took this pink dress. I like the fun sorbet pink colour, the pleats are pretty, it is 100% silk and I took a size US 8 in this because the model online was said to be wearing a US 6 and I am usually the size of the model or one size up.

The pleat is gorgeous, and it was only $100.

The pink unfortunately is more of an orange tint than a true salmon pink as shown in the photos online. It would look fantastic on a woman who is light blonde and light skinned or super dark skinned. Not so much on me.

ALL SAINTS WYATT SUEDE PETROL BLUE MOTO BRAIDED JACKET – $353.60

Buttery soft. Best leather jacket in suede for this brand. Don’t love their regular leather jackets, but their suede jackets are gorgeous. Thin, supple, and pretty.

I love the feminine details of the braided belt at the bottom and the braided shoulder detail.

I took a US 8 because the US 4 was too tight and US 6 didn’t exist in stock. The 8 is perfect to wear a thick sweater (fisherman’s style) underneath.

CITIZENS OF HUMANITY DRIFT HIGH-RISE ROCKET JEANS – $115

These pair of jeans are very comfortable. They’re soft, they’re slightly stretchy and the high-rise is awesome on them.

They are not as awesome as the AG Farrah High Rise jeans because those are like PAJAMA thick and soft like cotton flannel.

BUT!

They are still very good jeans, slightly thinner than AG jeans, and the colour “Drift” is a darker medium charcoal grey with a lighter wash at the knees.

DAGNE DOVER CORK TOTE IN 13″ – $89 USD

After a deep sale discount and a $50 credit referral ( thank you! ) it came out to $89.

I have their 15″ which I bought with my own money in Onyx Stingray Embossed Leather Black which I reviewed, and I wanted a 13″ (a smaller one) that is more organized, and in cork which is a nice summer style. It is lighter than the 15″ being cork and not leather, and it is smaller.

Same organization, great for toting around with a child.

I also plan on stencilling it a bit with some rose gold or copper and customizing it.

DER B. BELT BB0228 STUDDED BLACK BELT – $112.50

This is an AMAZING BELT. Handmade in Germany, with the most amazing flat pyramid studs all over.. it is one gorgeous belt.

I took the 95CM because they didn’t have anything smaller (that was the M/L), but the XS/S would have been better if I could have purchased it.

I popped a few little holes with a hole puncher and it works great as a waist belt or to belt my pants.

The pyramid studs are not too shiny like a disco ball (like in their other styles), and I am a huge fan. Totally converted.

PINK TARTAN CAR COAT IN GRAY – $447.50

I have been eying this coat ever since I tried it on, and I found it for 50% off. It is a stunning piece of double faced virgin wool (20% nylon blend for shape), and it is so soft it feels like cashmere. NOT ITCHY AT ALL.

This is high quality wool, and I’ve tried on cheap wool sweaters, so I would know. It is beautifully crafted, with inverted collar lapels (in a lighter grey faced flannel), and unlined. SO PRETTY.

ARITZIA VEGAN SUEDE LIS PENCIL SKIRTS IN DARK CAMEL, DARK OLIVE & TAUPE – $52 each

Their vegan suede is incredible, at Aritzia. I have tried their leggings on many times (the small is too tight, would need a medium in their leggings), and have been impressed at how real it feels.

Even Zara makes a really nice feeling vegan suede I have been impressed by.

Anyway, I saw online these skirts and knew they would be great as leather skirts in my wardrobe.

I took the following colours to round out my neutral skirts, and although I find the slits on the side high (3 inches above the knee), I plan on taking them into the tailor to sew up the sides and make them a little more modest / office appropriate.

For sizing, I am normally a US 4, but lately have been shifting up to a US 6 for comfort.

I had to take a 6 in these, the 4 was a perfect tight fit but I want to eat and breathe, so I took the 6.

COS CAR COAT IN GREY – $125 (on sale)

They call it a long blazer and it is sold out online, but available in the Montreal stores.

It really just looks like a car coat – just like my Pink Tartan one I bought but not as soft or thick or coat-y, it is a lighter, thinner blazer-like feel in a marled grey. It is perfect as a topper when you are in slightly warmer temperatures and want a loose topper but not something warm like my Pink Tartan car coat.

COS OVAL COPPER BANGLES X 2 – $27.30 each

HOW PRETTY ARE THESE? I bought two to stack, and they jingle a little. They are a pretty copper, almost rose gold, and the oval shape is so unusual without being too different.

I took the XS/S and my wrists are tiny, so they fit well. I like that they do bangles in two sizes, because the large / normal ones NEVER fit my wrists and fall off all the time.

CLUB MONACO MACKENZIE WHITE STRIPED SWEATER IN MERINO WOOL – $47.40

$40 for a soft merino wool sweater? Sold. The only thing is that it is a little see-through in white, which is not a big deal for me, but it doesn’t look like an opaque white as shown on the model.

ALL SAINTS KERR SUEDE BIKER JACKET IN MUSHROOM – $383.20

With all the returning I did, I got a store credit (they don’t do refunds), so I used it on this Mushroom biker jacket in suede. I am hesitant about the quilted shoulders but I took it a size bigger so it will look looser.

The colour also promises to be a nice greyish taupe unlike what I see online, based on googling “Mushroom”, so we shall see.

I took it in a US 8 instead of my normal US 6 which would have fit well. I plan on wearing a sweater underneath.

ACNE STUDIOS PACISPUNCH GREY CHARCOAL SWEATER – $230

This sweater looks so ordinary, but when I put it on, the wool was not at all itchy and it was incredibly comfortable. It is hard to see, but at the waist, on the wrists and up by the neck, there is a small strip of like a flannel heather grey in wool that adds another extra added dimension and texture to the sweater rather than being boring.

It really does look different in real life (not as plain).

I took the small in this as I wanted it fitted, even though the Medium would have fit better for my shoulders, it’s stretchy, so the Small works well for the rest of my body.

EBERJEY GISELE SLEEP SHIRT IN NAVY – $50

I scored this in a Medium (way too large on me but WHO CARES) for 50% off at a local boutique here.

It is. SO. SOFT. It is like being wrapped in a 100% softest cotton ever cloud. I am stalking all the versions of this sleep shirt and I plan on buying more to wear constantly at home.

COSABELLA BLACK LACE BRALETTE – $50

https://www.cosabella.com/index.php?page=index&referrer_id=73078

I plan on wearing this OVER a black bra I own, so it turns it into a super comfortable lace bra… instead of buying a new one. 🙂

Could also layer it over other coloured bras for a mesh look I suppose.

I took the small because it needs to be tighter rather than to fit me well (medium), as I plan on wearing it over regular bras for a lace-trimmed look.

This bralette is AMAZING, as is their entire store of bras and panties.

PHEW!

I think I got it all? We shall see in my 2016 Yearly Roundup.

That’s amazing, how did you find a PS1 for $15? The cheapest I’ve ever seen it was for $650.
