What is an archetypal outfit for you that you could have happily worn at any point in your life?

I am thinking really hard about this one, and I’d say it would probably be a long-sleeved v-neck t-shirt over a tank top and jeans.

Something like this:

Maybe more recently, I would have gone more for navy blue and white stripes, but in the past, it would have been solid colours, and my jeans nowadays are 300X more expensive than what I could afford as a kid, and I know that high-rise, super soft, dark rinse jeans are my jam.

I like this archetypal outfit the best because it is comfortable, great for Fridays at the office, the weekend, and can be de-layered as I get warmer by just removing the long-sleeved top.

It’s also easy to accessorize with earrings, rings or necklaces, the colours that I choose for the top or the accessories say a lot about my mood that day, plus I can wear it with knee-high boots, sandals, heels, flats, or booties, all of which I own.

Or just left well enough alone and a watch is all I need like in the outfit above.

This is one of my main uniforms throughout the year, adding a chunky cardigan on top in the winter. I also love a good dress, and can wear it in all seasons with the additional of tights and boots and cardigan for winter, or by itself in summertime with flats or sandals.

I’m the same outfit. Actually I’m wearing a similar outfit now – Olive green and white striped long-sleeved boat neck t-shirt over a tank top and slacks (jeans on Friday or the weekend). I completely agree that it’s a perfect outfit for all seasons. I tweak mine with shoes, jewelry, stripe size and pant style (crop, cargo, ankle, dressy, denim). Round or boat neck for the office and v neck on the weekend.

Black dress. Although the shape, style and fabric have changed over the years.
