In Style, What I bought

What I bought: The January 2021 Edition

So I bought a lot of coats. I don’t know what it is about winter, but coats galore pop up and … *hearts in eyes*

This month mostly has been everything OUT OF POCKET, as in on eBay or Etsy, not on Poshmark where I still have credits remaining to use up (I am saving them up)..

Paid: $322.04 out of pocket

A gorgeous wool duster sweater/coat. The lapel caught me. It’s deep, gorgeous, and it looks GREAT. *swoon* It will be chic open or closed.

It is comfortable, and a little too long – I need to get it tailored to just below my knees), but it is a nice sweater duster coat.

Uzbekistan Vintage Gold Brocade Silk Robe

Paid: $90.61 out of pocket

Pure silk, handmade… gorgeous. I have wanted a gold brocade coat for a long, long time. This one is a free size, but I figure I could have it tailored in a little if need be, or just to leave it loose. It would look stunning against a biker chick all black look, or maybe with an all white outfit.

I like vintage pieces, and vintage silk brocade with a silk lining is such a piece of history. I bought this because I saw a beautiful brocade gold coat on a character Babe on the show Grace & Frankie and I was enamoured:

I wanted something similar (not exact), and thought a cool gold coat would be cool.

Paid: $289.77 out of pocket

Ever since I saw Marissa on The Rachel Zoe Project wearing a white cape coat when they were looking at apartments in New York for Rachel, I have been OBSESSED with finding one. I couldn’t find the one Marissa actually wore (I am sure it was a few thousand bucks..), I decided to go on Etsy to hunt for something similar, and came across this coat above.

It’s too trendy as a coat for me to buy it as a classic piece for resale, but I am willing to pay for it to be made for me. I love the belt in the middle tying it together (or you can wear it open like a long blazer cape coat like what Gigi has on):

It is clearly not the quality of this thousands-of-dollar cape coat Gigi has on, but it is good enough for the look as it’s quite trendy..

Current/Elliott High-waisted Chambray Pants

“Paid” with credits: $35

High waisted? Wide-legged? Chambray? PANTS?.. Sign me up. They look comfy, and if anything I can turn them into house pants.

They are a little too tight at the back that I need to break (?) or loosen up the waist because I need about 2″ to feel comfortable, but the rest fits perfectly.
