Almost everything was secondhand this month or very deeply discounted except for one blazer, that was 40% off and much needed because the first month here, I had not planned on it being so dang cold.
It was so cold I was shivering the whole time.
When I buy things these days, I am trying my best to buy it for as little as possible or eschew it completely. I have had a couple of moments where I ALMOST picked up something but then put it back to “think about it” and not even 2 hours later, decided it was not worth it / never went back for it.
Saved a lot this way, thus far.
I am trying hard to only buy pieces that are actually special, or very very very cheap. Like thrift-store cheap.

ARE YOU READYYYYYYYYY!??!?!?!?
(Yes you are. Be prepared, I really shopped in Toronto…)
A lot of what I got is from Poshmark Canada (they are live now, use code SHERRYISH for a $15 credit to shop with), and the items are SO MUCH cheaper than in a consignment shop for the most part, but you have to sort of dig through tons of listings to find treasures.
I wrote a whole review on Poshmark Canada here.
TOPS
[Consignment] Helmut Lang Pebble Silk Wrap Top in Orange (Vein) – $140
I don’t know, I think a dress I got from Cuyana is what triggered my love for this gorgeous deep vibrant orangey-red top.
I also love the draping, the trim around the top that gives it some shape. I could belt it or leave it as-is.
The colour is called “vein”, which I kind of like.
[Poshmark Canada] J. Crew Bisou Navy Top – $7
This is a surprisingly thick tee.
I thought it would be tissue thin but it is THICK and SOFT, and better for cooler weather than summer.
[Poshmark Canada] J. Crew Linen Blend Striped Popover – $7
Size 8? I wasn’t sure it would fit and it does fit oversized but it looks really great.
I like the linen, the stripes, very easy to wear.
[Poshmark Canada] Lululemon Pleat back White Scuba Top – $35
The back is everything.
Love the white pleats, not sure how I am going to keep the knife pleats so PLEATED but I love it and it gives such drama in the back.
The front is just a simple white scuba look. Very minimalist.
[Poshmark Canada] Zara Exaggerated White Bow Blouse – $30
HOW COULD I NOT BUY THIS?
I LOVE this exaggerated bow front, and how it is loose, yet fitted..
And it is cropped (I need high-waisted pants or skirts), and I like how it looks with tighter bottoms like pencil skirts as there is so much volume there.
[Poshmark Canada] Rails Shea Tank Chambray Tie Top – $16
Apparently this is a $$$$ brand. I had no idea. I just love the tie in front.
It is more like a cropped tie top, which is fine because I wear high-waisted everything, so it covers well.
I like the light blue chambray, and it is super soft.
POSHMARK FOR THE WIN!
[ Consignment ] J. Crew Collection Leather Tank Top – $67
I have wanted a leather tank top for a while. I did have one I bought off eBay, made by Joie but it was too much of a tank-tank, and I couldn’t get it to fit my body, it was too loose and then the tank would really gape in the front and show everything.
I did not love it. I resold it.
So, I have been lusting for a better version which is this leather tank, that has ribbed sides and a zipped up back.
It isn’t skintight (yay) but it looks much more luxe.
SWEATERS
[ Discounted ] Madewell Grey Bishop Sleeve Sweater – $35
BELL SLEEVES.
I love a great bishop sleeve because it is a bell sleeve, and gives some arm drama without it being too over the top.
I’d wear it just like this, and a cuff over the cuff of the sweater to kind of glam it up.
[Poshmark Canada] Aritzia Diderot Cardigan in Beige – $20
I love this sweater with the batwing sort of arms, the comfotrable cosiness of it, and I was obsessed after my friend lent me hers in NYC when it was cold.
I do see a few stains I have to try and get out, but they aren’t noticeable, very light faint something like orange juice or some sort of juice.
[Poshmark Canada] Madison Marcus Embellished Pullover – $7
Can you believe it cost about $200 for this sweater? TWO HUNDRED? I got it because I like flashy shiny things sometimes, and it was a cool casual look with an interesting inverted pleat back..
BLAZERS
[Poshmark Canada] Madewell Duskfall Blazer in Navy – $50
I normally wear a US 6 in blazers (Smythe) and I took a gamble and took a size US 2 in this because people said it ran a little large, and I was crossing my fingers EXTRA HARD it would still fit and not be too tight.
It does fit, it is a little tight around the shoulders, but not uncomfortably so. I can wear it, I would probably fit better in a US 4 but it is not a lost cause.
[ Retail ] Ann Taylor White Blazer – $120
This is what I bought because it was SO COLD when we arrived and I needed a light sweater (not the thick wool one I brought). You know, just a little thin sweater thingamajig.
I saw this at Ann Taylor, loved the linen blend, and it looked so chic and felt great.
Moving on! More to come.
