In Style, What I bought

What I bought: The December 2020 Edition

Taotronics Light Therapy Lamp

Paid: $58

On the advice of my very smart friend, I purchased this light therapy lamp with 10,000 lux to help me regain some energy and remove these blues. I think it works (even as a placebo I will take it!) and I have been doing 20-30 minutes a day.

Reiss Lorna Asymmetrical Top – Red

Paid: $205.27

I love this top so much, it is why I got it in a dress AND I got it in red (and white, see below) when Reiss was having a 30% off sale.

The red, I got in a small. I know it will be amazing because the knitted dress quality is incredible.

Reiss Lorna Asymmetrical Top – White

Paid: $205.27

The white, I got in a medium, as the small sold out, and I know the medium still fits, just a little looser.

Max Mara Manuela Icon Coat

Paid: $1010.94

Bought it secondhand, the Max Mara Manuela Icon camelhair coat costs about $3000 USD at retail.

This is a SERIOUS deal even secondhand, as it normally goes for $1000 – $2000 USD secondhand, as it is such a classic, iconic coat.

It has super tiny flaws under the arm, which I think I MAY be able to fix, and the stitching in the lining which I CAN DEFINITELY fix. I love the tie for the coat, the camelhair is luxurious, and the pockets are not patch pockets but slim hidden ones.

ELIZABETH COLE CRESCENT NECKLACE – $155.79

I saw this necklace and had a visceral – OMG I HAVE TO HAVE THIS necklace reaction. I love the upside down crescent, the blue stones in various colours.. that kind of croissant brass ring in the middle. I am in love.

Here I am, wearing it in an outfit:

Tibi Pink Merino Wool with Tie Cuffs

“Paid” (with credits): $132.50

Tie cuff sweaters? SIGN ME UP FOR ALL OF THEM.

I already have one in navy blue by Catherine Maladrino, that I LOVE, so when I saw this, I knew I had to have it – check out my #OOTD Fit To be Tied Look

So when I saw it in light blush pink? Yes. Yes please. I can mix it up with lots of pink as a skirt, or red…

Tibi Warm Pink Alpaca Wool Cosette Sweater

“Paid” (with credits): $132.50

I don’t have a pink sweater, so this warm pink one sounds incredible as an addition to my closet. I love the colour, the cosy mockneck, the slightly oversized fit… SIGN ME UP.

ERICKSON BEAMON STATEMENT GREEN STONE RING

“Paid” with credits: $90

His work is right up my alley but not the prices. It’s also a TINY bit too rainbow-brite for me, but I enjoy the look of this one. A huge green stone, Swarovski crystals around the edges..? Sounds good to me. It looks really pretty.

I’ve cut back on shopping quite a bit because of not having anywhere to go. Does it bother you that you don’t have any place to wear all of your pretty new items (outside of your home)?

Regarding the Reiss Lorna asymmetrical tops, are you going to stop at two colors? I can see why you like them so much.

By the way, thank you for your “OOTD Style & Fashion Look” posts. I always enjoy your creative outfits..

I haven’t bought as much as I could. To be honest, I only bought certain things because of my wanting to have them or waiting for so long and they finally appeared!

It does bother me. I do not know when I can wear them again… It seems like not for this year or next. But.. I guess I will be ready.

I suspect I will be buying a lot less this year, I didn’t realize how dumb we would all be to not stay at home and have governments decide: Hey, the other countries have successfully gotten rid of this, let’s follow their example … would prove to be so difficult in Europe and North America.

Oh and as for the tops – I like white and red, but I am not opposed to black one day, though I don’t like it as much as the other colours. I am going to keep it cool and see what pops up. If it’s a navy blue, I am all over that.
