What I bought: Beginning of Spring Edition

What I bought (I caved. Am weak.)

Old Navy Banana Leaf Printed Sundress – $13

And worn like this!

Very Phoebe Philo for Celine from 2004 where she had a similar inspirational print.

Zara Rectangular stone earrings

I made them into DIY necklaces! See my creations here.

J. Crew Tipped White Linen Blazer to replace my existing one

Retail: $198 USD

Paid: $30 USD – Bought it New Without Tags (NWOT) on Poshmark

Why I bought it

The last one I have is really stained and hideous.

But I love this blazer. And my old one is also a size too small at a size 0.

I need a size larger for my shoulders, post-Little Bun, so I bought a size 2 in exactly the one I want – white linen new without tags. It means it is a pristine white and not (possibly) stained.

I really really really love this blazer, and will now be able to take better care of it, knowing where and how it stains as it is white linen and washing the collars often.

Adina Mills Bismuth Ring

Retail: $289 USD

Paid: $125 USD – Bought it off Poshmark used

Why I bought it

Ever since I saw her jewellery on Frankie from the great show Grace and Frankie (an excellent Netflix series), I have been obsessed with getting a few of her pieces, so I have been hunting for them.

It has a very cool sort of molten look to it.

Adina Mills Rock Quartz Ring

Retail: $289 USD

Paid: $125 USD – Bought it off Poshmark used

Why I bought it

From the same seller. The rock is gorgeous and has enough of colour to be fun but still be a neutral.

Adina Mills Yellow Quartz Ring

Retail: $150 USD

Paid: $40 USD – Bought it off eBay used

Why I bought it

I like the big rock look of it, it’s a pretty crystal rectangle… well worth it.

Aritzia Espace Romperécoulement-romper/69665.html?dwvar_69665_color=1274

Retail: $138

Paid: $138

Why I bought it

I wanted the jumpsuit version but then I’d have to take it in to be hemmed up, so I went for the romper instead…

It is fantastic and it has POCKETS.

BlankNYC Vegan leather jacket with rose gold hardware

Retail: $115 CAD

Paid: $115 CAD

Why I bought it

Black leather jacket with ROSE GOLD ACCENTS? OMG YES.

I bought it and love it. It comes with a removable hood and because it is vegan leather I can wear it in the rain and not freak out about it. Not that I will plan on that, but just in case.

The removable hood is a nice touch too, and is a nice casual touch.

Sunday Best Striped Shirt

Retail: $65

Paid: $65 — not waiting for a discount!

Why I bought it

I love a thick, gorgeous, striped shirt. It is thick, it is lovely, not thin, and it is the perfect white and blue stripe.

I am a sucker for stripes because it is like my own kryptonite.

Black vegan leather Morgan Black Tote

Retail: $78

Paid: $0 — with a gift card but it would have cost $38

Why I bought it

I use a gift card for this, so I got the bag for free. It was originally coming up to $38 for it because it is fully vegan leather ( the good quality stuff) but the tassel itself was 100% suede.

I like that it can be a crossbody or a handheld bag, it is VERY roomy for a smaller ‘tote’ and the only downside is I wish it had pockets.

It is also vegan so I can just be in the rain and not worry about the leather.

I also love the size of it, it can fit everything without being too huge or tote-y.

Bite Beauty Liquified Lipsticks in Braised and Infuse – $14 each instead of $28

Retail: $28

Paid: $14 each — they were half off

Why I bought it

I love a good red lip and these Bite Beauty liquified lipsticks are incredible. I also like great lipsticks that are moisturizing, and as eco-friendly as possible.

I am REALLY getting into a good red lip and still trying to find the perfect one that is moisturizing and not too drying, and yet really light on the lips.

J. Crew Mercantile Cowl Neck Glen Plaid Sweater

Retail: $78

Paid: $35 – it was on sale and I got another 20% off

Why I bought it

It is a cool glen plaid, soft, comfortable, fleecy and fuzzy inside, and it is so formal as a print in such a casual top.

It is really quite cute.

  1. Maggie

I love the banana leaf dress on you! How do you find the quality and fit of the BlankNYC jacket? I’ve been lusting after one after seeing It on Schitt’s Creek.
    Cheers, Maggie

So BlankNYC makes VERY realistic leather jackets. I have to say I am very impressed. It is not as soft as a real leather jacket by about 20%, but the look of it is very authentic. I like the quality a lot and the price can’t be beat at 1/10 of the price

This is by far one of the best vegan leather jackets I’ve ever tried on

OH! and for the fit, it is a hit and miss. So I took the Medium in this particular Make it be Moto jacket, because it said in the reviews it ran small. They were not wrong

Other jackets, or styles may not run as small or as bag. 🙁 They are not consistent apparently.
