Week of Money: Where BBQ Season is upon us!

DAY ONE

??:?? — I wake up somewhat refreshed but still fatigued. Little Bun slept pretty well last night, and I was conked out completely.

6:03 a.m. — I cuddle and kiss Little Bun in the morning and then I get up, grab his milk and start getting ready.

6:05 a.m. — I am not ready for today. I am tired. I need another 2 days of the weekend to chill and hang out, honestly.

6:23 a.m. — I put on an outfit, have Little Bun choose all my accessories (he is in an awesome mood today), and then we do LookBook and take selfies. I only have ONE tiny little bump happening on my lip and the rest of my face is clearing up or pretty much clear. I know where that bump came from as well — I had put hand lotion on (very moisturizing) but then when I scratched my lip, some of it must have transferred.

7:00 a.m. — Out the door, sure to hit traffic.

7:44 a.m. — The preschool dropoff is fine.

8:11 a.m. — I get to work, and sort of get overwhelmed. So.. to recap.. three mini projects, two major ones, and another 2 more on the way where I am supposed to train two completely new people on these processes. I am freakin’ overwhelmed. I have to say something. I am not a slave.

9:27 a.m. — I start working. I help another team mate solve a problem.. well to be precise, I basically half-translate. His French is atrocious and he also is not fantastically on point with certain processes, so that sort of equals 3 days of round robin between him and another frustrated person.

9:29 a.m. — I “solve” it by repeating myself in English AND French to make sure I got it right, and then when he goes to take a break, the other guy runs up to me and says: I ALREADY SAID THAT FIVE TIMES TO HIM… to which I replied, I know, but French is not his strong suit. And he said: I DID IT IN ENGLISH! .. and I said: I know, but you aren’t too hot at English either. 😛

9:40 a.m. — I make a doctor’s appointment for Little Bun tomorrow – his nosebleeds are getting worse. I need this cauterized and need an ENT (Ear Nose Throat) referral.

11:27 a.m. — I head off to lunch early, then go and work on my Spanish, but really end up playing on Tailwind (I upgraded to the Pinterest app too — get one month free with my referral) $101.50

Small plug: Free one month trial here but I paid for both services – Pinterest & Instagram – for a full year at $100 USD each.

Why?

Because Tailwind for me as a small-time blogger with ZERO staff (Little Bun does not count), has completely saved me. I can now schedule stuff ahead of time, have it post on Instagram and Pinterest on a Smart Schedule, and I do not have to lift a finger to do it, NOR do I have to keep copying & pasting my hashtags (I just pop in my list).

If any bloggers are interested in a full review, holla in the comments. I cannot recommend it enough. I do not need to be awake at 9:45 p.m. posting #!#@#! No one does.

12:30 p.m. — My whole lunch period goes by in a flash — 3000 Instagram pins to repin on a schedule on Pinterest is no joke.

12:35 p.m. —I finish another Hershey Cookies & Cream bar (yeah going through these like mad), and head off to a meeting.

1:00 p.m. — Back to back meetings for 3 hours.

4:00 p.m. — At my desk, exhausted, I leave the work for tomorrow and pick up Little Bun. We cuddle on the bench while he snacks on his digestive cookie.

4:37 p.m. — We head home, my partner comes home and makes dinner – fish with bread and a salad with some avocado — and then I putter around.

6:50 p.m. — I leave everything to be done tomorrow – dishes, laundry, whatever. I need to stay at home (taking a half day), and take Little Bun to the doctor and get personal stuff done.

7:33 p.m. — I manage to get Little Bun changed and in bed by 7:30 but he is SO USED to sleeping much later that he doesn’t really sleep until 8-ish or so. Baby steps. I wasn’t expecting to wind back his bedtime by a whole hour magically but we are working on it.

8:00 p.m. — He falls asleep.

Spent: $101.50

DAY TWO

??:?? — I wake up refreshed-ish but still tired again. I know I am not going in to work today so I feel even happier for the half day break. My partner doesn’t do Little Bun’s lunch and is pleased I am taking the time off to relax. He knows I have been stressed lately and has been talking me through it.

6:44 a.m. — Little Bun slept MORE last night than before, so I am pretty happy about that — he needs MORE sleep or else he becomes terrible, so I am trying my best to help him.

6:50 a.m. — My partner leaves for work, I log in to work (can’t help myself) and get caught up in an issue until our appointment.

7:51 a.m. — I ask Little Bun to pick out a book for the waiting room because I am not sure what they have. He picks out The Grouchy Ladybug but doesn’t want another one.

8:23 a.m. — At the doctor’s office he VERY SWEETLY and QUIETLY does shared reading with me. OMG. It is so gratifying to hear him read out loud and only struggle with certain long words. It is beyond cute. My mother will be so happy this summer when she visits, and will really REALLY get a kick out of him reading to her.

8:28 a.m. — The doctor gives me an ENT and some bloodwork referrals which I have to get done some time. Next week maybe, I need to call the hospital to book an appointment.

9:01 a.m. — I take Little Bun out for a mini breakfast — a salmon quiche and resist getting pastry because for lunch I want to go out and get a Starbucks (double star day!). Instead, I pick up a meatball to add to our lunches later. $12.57

9:29 a.m. — We eat the quiche (LOVE!) and then head home.

10:08 a.m. — I get to work, answer emails, etc.. and while I am doing that, I feed Little Bun his lunch and another lunch with the meatball and quinoa with carrots.

11:28 a.m. — Before we leave to go out, I then do all of the dishes and leave them to dry on the counter.

11:50 a.m. — I get Little Bun ready to go out, and we plan on going to grab a Starbucks and a mini lunch for me as a treat.

12:04 p.m. — On the way out in the car, Little Bun passes out cold in the backseat, snoring at noon exactly — which is his nap time at the preschool.

12:24 p.m. — I stop off and park, then get out and wrap him in my Cuyana sweater (see? MULTI PURPOSE) to keep him warm in the car while the A/C is on — it is a bit humid outside and dusty. I don’t want to have the windows down, the noise and dust filtering in to wake him up, and I also don’t want the car to get all humid, so I leave the A/C on while he naps and hang out in the car.

12:25 p.m. — I park at Starbucks, pick up a venti rooibos tea latte and then quietly park somewhere quiet and dark where I can work while he naps. $5.95

12:27 p.m. — I log in and work in the car.

12:30 p.m. — I accept a dinner invite from the team for Thursday. Have to mingle. Then I drive home.

1:00 p.m. — At home, I log in to work, and he plays beside me.

1:12 p.m. — I make noodles (a huge bowl) and eat most of it, and give a small 10% tax to Little Bun because I have to.

2:25 p.m. — I do the dishes.

4:30 p.m. — We head off to a playdate after I put away the dishes.

4:34 p.m. — During the play date which was great and such a relief, Little Bun FINALLY started playing with his friend like a real friend. They were so into each other at the end, running around squealing like a bunch of squirrels, it was so much fun and very heartening to see them interact like that.

5:11 p.m. — They also had a snack near the end — they BAKED COOKIES (and had I seen her message earlier I would have come up earlier to bake with them and spend more time but I was too busy working).

6:06 p.m. — I end up logging in while I am there and working anyway because my work day did not really end well. I make a mistake but then fixed it later.

6:45 p.m. — Little Bun gets treated to TWO cookies (homemade), a half glass of milk, AND half an apple. He gobbles it all down, and even wipes down the counter / arranges the cup and plate to make it look as it should. He is.. too.. darn cute.

6:49 p.m. — I also tried my VERY first cup of coffee in my life, although I must admit it was not a true coffee, it was decaffeinated coffee that was a cappuccino so in the end, I ended up drinking it with two sugars and milk. It was good though, I did not hate on it, but the oddest thing happened — I started yawning right away and throughout the entire night I was yawning like crazy. I kept wanting to sleep and felt very fatigued. I later researched that caffeine is removed by using some sort of toxic chemical in some cases, and THAT chemical in small dosages (apparently not really felt in decaf coffee or so they say), can make people dizzy, nauseous, fatigued… I wonder if I am just being super sensitive to that chemical or if there is something in coffee itself that is making me sick.

6:59 p.m. —Before we leave, I also get a huge bag of books. His friend doesn’t really like reading and Little Bun is a real bookworm these days, so when we leave, he eagerly spreads out all of his books on the bed and arranges them by topic, and then by size. He starts reading one by himself but then catches himself and pretends that he can’t read and needs Mommy to do Shared Reading with him. We read a book before I stop and try to get my work day prepped.

7:07 p.m. — My partner is already home, and we end up having food again — a light salad, and two baked pizzas (he put fresh tomatoes on top). It was pretty delicious. Little BUn stuffed his little face even though he already ate a ton at my neighbour’s. LOL. This kid is an eating machine. Honestly.

7:34 p.m. — I get out a Thank You card and have Little Bun write a note to thank his friend for the books. It doesn’t hurt to start instilling good manners in a child.

7:44 p.m. — My partner announces quietly to me that he bought a little mini BBQ for Little Bun to “cook” along with Daddy while he BBQs for us in the summer. How CUTE is that. He will show it to me once he picks it up.

8:00 p.m. — We get ready for bed, he is of course refusing to sleep and runs around like a banshee before passing out at the end. My partner and I chat a bit, and then drift off to sleep. I surprisingly am very tired (more so than usual) from that decaf cappuccino, and would consider drinking it again before bedtime until I google it and realize that it might be a chemical additive that is making me feel sleepy and tired, and supposedly a toxic one at that. UGH. No more.

Spent: $18.52

DAY THREE

??:?? — I end up waking up pretty early and am super tired AF… mostly because Little Bun had been crying all night. Getting tangled in blankets, and then he screamed when Daddy touched him instead of Mommy to fix the blanket, and all that nonsense.

6:03 a.m. — I am tired. But you know. I have to make it work.

6:43 a.m. — I get ready for work and this time my partner stays at home which makes Little Bun VERY HAPPY that he is skipping preschool two days in a row.

6:57 a.m. —He eagerly helps me pick out my outfit, zip up my boots, pick out my watch, do Lookbook, selfies, and then a massive hug and kiss goodbye before he stands there waving and waving and waving eagerly at me until I close the door. My goodness. It is days like this that it is all worthwhile. He is so worth it. I have the highest highs with him and the lowest lows.

7:30 a.m. — I get to work, and start working. My team lead means BUSINESS today. He has a post-it of things to ask me, and we go through project by project. Then I get pulled into meetings to give estimates, and I get asked for more estimates on times for things. OMG.

10:36 a.m. — I try to finish my tasks but end up in a horrific TWO HOUR LONG meeting that could have been done in half an hour. All I could think was: I should have brought a KitKat to this damn meeting. That should be a sticker on my office cubicle or something.

11:12 a.m. — I head back to my desk, have another short meeting and desperately ping my colleague to go eat. I am drained.

12:30 p.m. — We head out to this fancy place, get very small portions for the price (wtf).. and I reluctantly fork over $29.50

1:11 p.m. — That food was NOT worth it. Annoyed. And still hungry.

1:34 p.m. — I get back to work, and eat my beloved KitKat, then have another meeting.

3:00 a.m. — I try to finish off a few things, and reply to a couple of emails before I sort of mentally sit back and take a break.

3:12 a.m. — I make a few appointments for Little Bun to see a specialist for his excessive nosebleeds, and then make an appointment (final one) for my skin.

3:56 p.m. — No Little Bun to pick up so I bolt early and head home. Instead of going home however, I stop and park outside, and catch up on my notes, my RSS feed (Feedly let’s you download it offline to read) and read my book until it is time to go in. I need a little break sometimes.

5:02 p.m. — I get home, and we end up doing dishes, laundry and hanging out until it is time to go to sleep.

8:17 p.m. — Little Bun tells me: Mommy I’m a macaroni penguin!… and Daddy is a hedgehog. And Mommy is a MACARONI HEDGEHOG!… to which I told him that made no sense at all because Little Bun was OUR baby, so I should be the hedgehog, Daddy is the Macaroni Penguin and LITTLE BUN is the Macaroni Hedgehog because he is the mix of the two of us. I cannot believe I am arguing logic with a toddler.

Spent: $29.50

DAY FOUR

6:00 a.m. — I get up and get ready to go, knowing that it is a dinner tonight with everyone, but forgetting to check the weather so I OBVIOUSLY WORE MY SUEDE BOOTS when it would be storming like crazy.. Anyway.

6:02 a.m. —I get Little Bun’s milk.

6:14 a.m. — I remember to grab Little Bun’s items (his father will pick him up afterwards), and I will stay a bit later and work or do other things on the laptop until it is time for dinner.

6:53 a.m. — We do LookBook, selfies, and I am out the door. I hit traffic of course.

7:40 a.m. — At preschool, drop off is great, and I tell him that Daddy will pick him up later so he is happy about that.

8:00 a.m. — I get to work and start working.

11:43 a.m. — I head out to lunch with two guys that are leaving next week (away from this client), and everyone stares at us as we go because they have NEVER seen these guys ever meet up and have lunch with anyone but each other.

12:08 p.m. — Lunch was a ham sandwich with a TON of mustard that made me sniffle and a soup that was not that great. $15.79

12:28 p.m. — I get back to work, and have given up on trying to do anything but just sit there and do my work. I will do my best and try my best, but sometimes I wonder waht goes through their head when they are asking me to do 4 projects at once and knowing I have to “train” a junior person on two of them. WTF? This is a lot of work.

4:12 p.m. — It is such a long day that I am so ready to leave…I had meetings all day and worked like mad.

4:38 p.m. — I head out for drinks with the girls (no alcohol for me though) and we get to the bar too early so it isn’t open so we duck into a restaurant. I decide on some potato pancakes, while they take a beer.

4:59 p.m. — I end up getting a snack of 4 potato pancakes which were very good. $11.56

5:20 p.m. —  The pancakes are AWESOME and I am waiting to have more to eat at the bar they want to drink at before going to the restaurant, but never get around to ordering anything to eat.

5:56 p.m. — We head off to the bar, and there I take a virgin mojito but they definitely put alcohol in it. $9.20

6:34 p.m. —  I decide I want to leave early. The ambience there with who was left wasn’t great either and I wanted to get home to undress and kiss Little Bun. I plan on going out tomorrow night as well for my friends art expo so I won’t be around for the night more than likely.

6:40 p.m. — As I don’t feel well so I get up to go and leave, and the Director who organized this gives me a sourpuss face. Look, have some sympathy. I asked for a VIRGIN cocktail and I got alcohol. I am not used to drinking it, and I feel terrible afterwards. I don’t care what she thinks.

7:19 p.m. — I walk back in the rain, say goodbye to the girls and head home.

7:34 p.m. — I head home, early, just in time for bedtime and tell my partner what happened with the “virgin” drink. He said: But couldn’t you TASTE the alcohol? I said “No there was sugar, mint and lime in it, it had no other flavour for me.” I skipped the dinner but later hear it wasn’t that bad — small portions but the quality was good. Dangit.

8:22 p.m. — Near to bedtime, Little Bun is a MONSTER. He won’t sleep all night, he kicks me in the face, he refuses to lie down and SLEEP and he just drives me nuts. He drives us BOTH nuts actually because my partner also screams at him. We are both exhausted, well and truly tired.

Spent: $36.55

DAY FIVE

??:?? — Crying, screaming, a lot of #@#%&@)! x 5 times

6:22 a.m. — I’m up and out the door early. I packed a black Theory leather dress, and some leather pants with a top for tonight depending on how I feel. Some classic heels, a clutch in a vintage obi print with some recycled brass cuffs from Alkemie and I am good to go.

6:25 a.m. — I get ready early and leave my partner dozing beside a passed out Little Bun. I hope he is okay when he wakes up. We were BOTH crying and screaming last night.

6:27 a.m. — Tonight is a friend’s exhibition, and I bring two changes of clothes — leather pants and a top, and a leather dress. I’ll decide which one later.

6:29 a.m. — I grab Little Bun’s milk.

6:34 a.m. — I leave early and Little Bun hugs and kisses me good bye and waves as I exit.

6:52 a.m. — At work I drop my stuff and go to grab Starbucks with a sanwich. Eff it. $11.59

8:23 a.m. — I check my emails and bid on a very pretty ink printed sort of graphic style tank from Emerson Fry. $20

12:22 p.m. — I get to work and then for lunch, I take a quick break and my colleague and I take a bus out to go get dumplings. $2.75

12:52 p.m. — At the dumpling place, a full platter is JUST enough. I could eat two but I want to save room for a dinner. $10.30

We walk back, she gets crap from her lead for being late, but mine isn’t even at his desk and he would not even care.

1:03 p.m. — I check emails then take another break and go out to work on my laptop to write some blog posts and answer comments.

1:22 p.m. — Back to work.

3:22 p.m. — I finish my work day, and leave early with my friend to go to an art exhibition.Nothing really happens, but it is POURING RAIN. It is so rainy I am really surprised.

4:50 p.m. — At her place, have deep girl chat about relationships and she tells me she thinks she made the right choice turning down two marriage offers from old ex-boyfriends. She doesn’t want to just SETTLE.

5:37 p.m. — We get changed and she can’t decide on a dress but chooses this grey strapless number (a little too sexy in my opinion as it isn’t a club but an art exhibition), and I go for the simple cocktail leather sheath dress. She tells me all about what is happening in her love life. I suggest online dating.

5:34 p.m. — We head to the exhibition, and have a great time. I have on a fitted but not skintight black dress with a front completely in leather, and high heels.

6:11 p.m. — We finally find a parking spot RIGHT IN FRONT (oh how lucky) and I pay for parking. I don’t even bother asking because it is her night, but out of politeness, she doesn’t even offer which I find a bit weird. I mean, I drove her there and back because it was raining, and I would have expected even a fake courtesy: Hey, how much do I owe you? …. I think she expects that everyone should pay for her and she shouldn’t need to offer, which is not an attitude you should have. Come to think of it, I have never seen her pay or offer to pay for anyone. She always just waits for other people to pay for her. Maybe I am being too PF-y. I do find it weird and plan on keeping an eye on her behaviour to see if I am right or not. $8.19

6:40 p.m. — The exhibition is nice, I find a beautiful piece done in gloss with the emotions of the beach at night with the waves crashing in an abstract way, and am really drawn to it. It is inspiring me to paint as well! Or do something artsy to hang on the wall.

6:45 p.m. — The guys that show up later had their jaws literally hit the floor and told me so because they had never seen me dress like that before, and were very sweet / complimentary all night (nothing inappropriate, they were just very amazed / stunned that I could clean up so well).

9:30 p.m. — I head off with them and have pizza around the corner because we are STARVING. $12.56

10:42 p.m. — I give my friend a ride home in my car, and it was probably the highlight of his night because he has always wanted to ride in one. He thanks me profusely (he avoided rain and the public transportation) and I tell him not to sweat it — see you Monday.

11:33 p.m. — I creep into the home and into bed laaaate. 11 p.m.

Spent: $65.39

DAY SIX

6:00 a.m. —I wake up EARLY. I am really tired coming in at 11 p.m. last night is wreaked havoc on my sleep.

7:31 a.m. — We head out to go pick up the BBQ in-store that says it shipped and is ready. We bought the Weber 15502001 Performer Deluxe Charcoal Grill 22-Inches with Copper…. and are pretty excited to cook with CHARCOAL for real grilling flavour.

8:08 a.m. — She tells us we got the order mixed up and only the COVER is ready to pick up. For the BBQ she tells us it hasn’t arrived and is still in transit. My partner looks confused.. he is sure he got the receipt to pick it up, we both leave exhausted and annoyed. No BBQ. He is especially annoyed we both wasted time and he feels like it is his mistake for not having properly checked the emails or something. He fumes about it all the way home, berating himself.

8:28 a.m. — We end up leaving the cover, annoyed with their lack of professionalism with online orders and head back home. Little Bun half falls asleep there and back.

8:33 a.m. — At home, I sew up all of Little Bun’s pants — he has holes everywhere, in the bum, on the knees.. you name it while my partner heads out to do groceries.

8:46 a.m. — I fix my necklace with a new hook to stop it from breaking and falling off, and make another necklace (a lilypad one) I never wear because the length is awkward for my “style” now, and turn it into a long necklace instead with a chain.

9:07 a.m. — I do all the dishes, dry them, and then work on the blog.

9:43 a.m. — I feed Little Bun soup as requested.

12:57 p.m. — My partner comes home, we eat a simple sandwich and I get ready to head out.

1:05 p.m. — I call my friend on the way there and we chat for the next 4 hours about everything. I find a pair of heels and try them on:

1:45 p.m. — I pick up a Starbucks to keep talking. $5.11

4:12 p.m. — On the way back home, I stop for a raspberry éclair. It is SO GOOD. I might come back here next week instead of going out. $5.70

4:45 p.m. — I head back home and try to remember to tell my partner I need tomorrow afternoon to FINALLY sell my iPod remote and dock.

4:48 p.m. — At home dinner is waiting already. I make notes to see what Queen Sugar is about and to find something to remove jean stains from leather…

5:11 p.m. — Little Bun eats standing up and so do I. I drink two huge cups of water.

6:42 p.m. — After dinner, I do all the dishes and dry them and my partner triumphantly crows that HE WAS RIGHT they DID have our BBQ there today and that woman just didn’t know her job… but now we are both annoyed we have to go all the way back there again as I placed the order in my name and cannot put HIS name as the pickup.

5:11 p.m. — He ruefully tells me it was his fault — he should have chosen the other store location where they are far more professional. He hates this store and will NEVER shop there again.

5:34 p.m. — He heads out for more night errands and I stay in and just happily watch Little Bun play alone. He is too cute.

6:32 p.m. — We make up games together with bed linens and some puzzle number cards and then I turn into a mountain that he drives cars all over happily saying: weee ooo weee oooo!!!!!

6:36 p.m. — He stops and reads a Discovering Dino book with me that he got in that huge bag of free books from my neighbour. He loves it because of all the flaps. We share — I read the text and he reads the flaps.

7:14 p.m. — We pause for some alphabet video songs, like this one from Super Simple ABCs he loves..

7:30 p.m. — I get him ready for bed, and myself as well. I need an early bedtime. I am beat. I want to take him to Ikea tomorrow as a morning outing / treat.

8:00 p.m. — I am in bed already passed out. Little Bun is playing and waiting for his father and I am already half sleeping. He crawls into bed beside me as I doze off.

Spent: $10.81

DAY SEVEN

6:08 a.m. — Little Bun is up, gets his milk, I sleepily get up and make some tea.

6:27 a.m. — I finish a Ask Sherry Question (you can ask me anything here), and then bum around the internet.

6:59 a.m. — To be honest, with everything I do at work, with my home / Little Bun life, and the fact that I am a pretty much full-time blogger, I have no idea how I do it. These posts for Week of Money take in particular, a lot of time to write and cultivate (if anyone has written one, you will know exactly what I mean), and then I have blog posts on top of all of that, AND a Pinterest/Instagram strategy. LOL. I’m insane to do it all alone.

7:33 a.m. — I am SO HAPPY that I saw this message today. It made my day because I LOVE that even a simple quote on my Instagram @saverspender page, can get people to take action and change their lives to #hustle for their future. Just check out what @jlarchbold wrote… She saw my quotes and then she came to the blog, got more inspiration and GOT THE JOB AND NEGOTIATED FOR IT AT THE SAME TIME. <3

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bd8lNxLhJRx/?taken-by=saverspender

8:08 a.m. — My partner and I leave to go get the BBQ. I hope they find it this time.

8:48 a.m. — BBQ picked up, they finally found it… and we’re back.

9:40 a.m. — I give up on Ikea for this weekend. Maybe the next one. Or in the afternoon, because I am CRAVING Swedish meatballs, and I plan on meeting my buyer a little later, so that might happen.

12:08 p.m. — I go down for a nap and Little Bun wiggles and protests while on the bed.

1:11 p.m. — He finally naps after repeated insistence’s from me like: Close your eyes. CLOSE YOUR EYES. LITTLE BUN.

2:00 p.m. — I get up before he wakes and leave to meet my buyer way east.

3:30 p.m. — We have a mixed communication of WHICH entrance but end up finding each other. $10

3:45 p.m. — The mall is uninteresting and I get a burrito which I regret afterwards because it wasn’t that great. Duly noted, stick to Starbucks. $13.19

4:34 p.m. — I wander around the mall aimlessly then head home. Maybe there’ll be time for the park.

5:29 p.m. — At home Little Bun greets me at his brand new Little Tikes Grill my partner bought and set up for him. It is ADORABLE. It is a “Daddy and Baby” activity to grill together now.

Looks like this IRL:

https://amzn.to/2rCwkxp

5:33 p.m. — I ask him if he was good or naughty when I was gone and he said naughty. I told him naughty boys didn’t get to go to the park !!! He changes his story but I check with my partner if he behaved before telling him to dress for the park.

5:35 p.m. — My partner asks me to ask my mother for a favour to buy some cling wrap for when she comes up but I realize that my colleague has a Costco membership, so I’ll just tag along the next time and pick up some more cling wrap for the house. Noted! Teamwork.

5:40 p.m. — We get ready and head to the park.

6:12 p.m. — At the park we play and he tells me “all pictures are done” (I was up in his face with the Sony RX100V camera which by the way is AMAZING because even as he was a blur and running around, I looked at the shots later and they were CRISP!…).. and any time he doesn’t want to do anything he says: “We are never going to do it!

6:30 p.m. — He then asks me to head home and I do, and he eagerly strips off his clothes to play with his new BBQ.

6:35 p.m. — I take a warm shower while my partner irons his shirts and watches Little Bun.

6:55 p.m. — I look at my To Do list and realize I have been putting off a lot of work on my shoes, so I grab a suede block and quickly clean my shoes. OMG. IT WORKS. This suede block eraser takes away the water spots, the colour stains (well not all, the indigo stains are pretty set but that is okay), and my boots look way newer.

7:00 p.m. — I then futz around on the laptop not wanting to do anything I should get done and is useful like organize my expenses for my company in my books (this is not a huge deal). Obviously I am procrastinating.

7:18 p.m. — Little Bun spends the night with his BBQ and number cards, he has a lot of toys now all things considered (but what he has is a fraction of what most kids have) and is content.

7:20 p.m. — I am not that hungry, that burrito in that food court was not great but it kept me full. It was a lot of food, and not anywhere close to Chipotle status but … I was peckish and misjudged the fact that I actually really HATE food courts.

7:34 p.m. — I like the idea of hiding items once in a while and bringing them back out because then they look fresh and new again.

7:43 p.m. — I survey the boot and shoe rack and decide to clean it out this weekend. I need to re-organize so that I can access what I want to wear for Spring / Summer now that Winter is over. I can pack away my shearling boots for when it gets cold again.

7:50 p.m. — I get my outfit ready and then get both of us ready for bed. Little Bun doesn’t want to sleep but after I play a jumping sing-a-long game to the song of We’re going on a Bear Hunt, he gets a little tired enough to deign to allow himself to be changed for bedtime.

8:17 p.m. — I am already passed out in bed after reading a few books with him. He goes to play with his father and the BBQ while I (task finished), pass out on the bed and curl up. He squeals for two blankets and a pillow and I wrap him as requested, then doze off immediately.
