MY BODY TYPE & SHOPPING PREFERENCES

I am normally a US 4 on bottoms (Designer US 4, Banana Republic 2, J. Crew 4 for the upper half like for jackets, or J. Crew 2 for the bottoms).

I’m an inverted triangle and normally wear an Small or 2 (smallest sizes in all mainstream brands except for designer brands where I usually take a US 4).

I am also 5’6″ and fairly slim overall. Small busted (A cup).

I will say for my shoulders I ALWAYS take a size larger than the bottom, like a US 6 in designer brands, or a US 4 in Banana Republic, or a J. Crew US 4 for instance, because my shoulders are large, my torso is wider after the pregnancy, but my body is slim overall.

I am super picky and hate itchy items of any kind because I have eczema (most wool-items and wool-blends are out, or anything unlined), too-tight things and anything that doesn’t look or feel expensive and wonderful.

$9 is $90 is $900. The price makes no difference to me.

J. CREW TIPPED BELTED SHIRTDRESS IN NAVY NAVY

http://shopstyle.it/l/R0D2

I saw this pretty J. Crew Tipped Belted Shirt dress many many times online, had it in my online cart, and finally pulled the trigger at 20% off having also paid the $12 CAD shipping charge + import duties (*shakes fist*)…

I took it in a size small and it fits GREAT! An extra-small would have probably fit as well but small is a much better.

I feel super comfortable in it, and I am loving the retro yet preppy sort of tennis sport vibe of it. It is growing on me the more and more I wear it and look at it.

HIGHLY Recommended. Probably won’t get more than 20% off if you don’t want to wait a few years for it to pop up secondhand somewhere.

Looks and feels great on:

The top part looks good too,.. fully buttoned, to boot!

And the belt looks fabulous:

It is fully buttoned and the quality is great for the price tag and compared to what J. Crew has been putting out lately.

Also, NO POCKETS 🙁

ANTHROPOLOGIE MAEVE CLAREMONT FLORAL PLEATED MIDI SKIRT

http://shopstyle.it/l/R0G0

I picked this Anthropologie Maeve Claremont Pleated Midi skirt up on sale (20% off sale which pretty much covers taxes here in Canada), so it was about $86.

I have no idea what the flowers are but they are just as pretty and as vibrant as in person.

Just NO POCKETS 🙁

I even matched it up with the J. Crew dress by putting the skirt over it and using the belt, and I sort of love the look:

The mix of the print and solid looks great:

I took the skirt in a SMALL but I fit in the Extra-Small as well.

I only just preferred the Small as it was about an inch looser, and it didn’t grip my waist as tightly as the extra-small to force a bump in my stomach where I don’t have one.

Note: there is a little elasticized waistband at the back, so it does have a little give here and there as well, and it has a zippered side-zip and a clasp.

ANTHROPOLOGIE CARTONNIER DOUBLE-KNIT FLARED CROPPED PANTS

http://shopstyle.it/l/R0EE

These Cartonnier Double-Knit Flared Cropped Grey Pants.. are.. soooooooo comfortable. Like wearing pyjamas.

The only reason why I don’t have them is because the cropped, sort of flared look, looks terrible on me (in my opinion).

I also don’t love the almost-there camel toe happening on me, but MAN THESE PANTS ARE COMFY. Just as comfy as homewear lounge pants.

Also, they are high-waisted, at least 10″ I’d say as a rise which I love.

So this is what it looks like on a NORMAL human being, not a skinny bony model:

Not super flattering to be honest. But dang comfy.

I tried on the Small and it fit perfectly. XS was a no-go. Nope. Small first just fine.
