DESCRIPTION

The easy appeal of this silk georgette skirt lies in its meticulous draping—the wrapped silhouette looks organic, but the angled folds are a feat of engineering. MM LAFLEUR AMARANTH LENOX SILK DRAPED SKIRT REVIEW

http://rstyle.me/ad/dw5dc7b557f

QUALITY 5/5

Outstanding. This skirt is GORGEOUS.

Doubly lined in silk, thick and drapes beautifully, soft, gorgeous.. I cannot say more about this.

DRAPE / FEEL 5/5

http://rstyle.me/ad/dw5dc7b557f

The draping is ridiculous. Seriously. And then it is zipped at the back.

COLOUR ACCURACY 4.5/5

Still beautiful but it is not as pink as shown online. It is slightly more purple. I guess it photographs a little lighter than real life, but even so…

You can see it looks like this online as “amaranth

http://rstyle.me/ad/dw5dc7b557f

When I took photos in daylight, it looks more like this..

…but even THIS shade photographed is not correct. It is about 3 shades darker like these Lululemon Violet pants:

The shade of the Amaranth from M. M. Lafleur in REAL LIFE is this colour.

MY USUAL BODY TYPE & FIT

The fit is great. I am normally a US 4 on bottoms (designer US 4, Banana Republic 2).

I’m an inverted triangle and normally wear an Small or 2 (smallest sizes in all mainstream brands except for designer brands where I usually take a US 4.

I am also 5’6″ and fairly slim overall. Small busted.

I will say for my shoulders I ALWAYS take a US 6 in designer brands, or a US 4 in Banana Republic for instance, because my shoulders are large and my body is slim.

I am super picky and hate itchy items, too-tight things and anything that doesn’t look or feel expensive and wonderful.

$9 is $90 is $900.

The price makes no difference to me.

FIT 5/5

This particular skirt I should have taken in a 4 and it would have fit like a dream. The problem is that they were completely sold out and only the 6 was available.

I took the 6 thinking I could wear it and if need be, just have it tailored in or nipped in at the waist if I needed.

I may just leave it though. The 6 isn’t that bad on me. I may need to tighten up the back but if that is too costly.. I could leave it.

I say costly because this could be more than $30 fix to tighten it as it is so beautifully tailored I am not sure what they have to do to make it slimmer.

Here’s what it looks like on me with all of this in mind:

Gorgeous, gorgeous sarong-style draping and obviously the size 6 on a 5’6″ person comes down way past my knees to almost midi length which I don’t hate.

Close up of the gorgeous wrapped front:

My bottoms are definitely a US 4 for MM Lafleur (actual size in designer brands) and the sizing of the waist is how much I could take in to make it “fitted” to be a US 4.

Really love this skirt…

The back of this skirt would probably be where the tailor would take it in, down the back seam:

Again, size 6 on a normal size 4 bottom (my shoulders are a US 6)

But even without holding it tight, it still skims very nicely and beautifully. Not tight, slightly loose. I guess the bum should be more fitted but even in this tailoring and drape, it doesn’t need to hug tightly.

You can see that there is an opening underneath the draping but it doesn’t go up the thigh, only halfway. AND it is lined.

Unfortunately, no pockets 🙁 BOO TO NO POCKETS

Ooo leg!

This exact colour in this skirt is sold out but they do have other colours (midnight blue) in the Lenox skirt cut as well at MM Lafleur. You can shop the entire range here.
