HOW BADLY DO I WANT THIS BOOK?

BADLY.

But will I ever re-read and flip through it ever again for ~$40?

That’s what is stopping me.

I don’t know. Mulling it over. I love closets and staring into them… but … $40!!

MY BLOGGING E-BOOK IS ALMOST READY

..dun dun dun.

Post on that coming up in a few weeks as I firm it up.

The teaser? I have just discovered that I am now able to pay my basic bills just from blog income if I wanted.

No luxuries of course like shopping and condo Welcome Taxes, but after only 3 years, that is quite an achievement in my eyes. It took me 5 years on my other blog to reach this level, so I’m calling this my fast track version.

I’ve learned a lot in the past 10 years of blogging (5 blogs later) on how to make money blogging without selling out, and I’d like to share it.

BABY BUN PLAYGROUP HAS STARTED!!!

Thank you all again for being so fantastic and supportive.

I am feeling much better and out of my “pity well” right now, and feeling far more optimistic.

I really, really, appreciate all of your words, comments and emails. I felt a great sense of belonging but also deep gratitude as cheesy as that sounds, that virtual “strangers” (we haven’t met in-person), can be so caring and concerned about .. well, me.

Someone you don’t even really know.

I very much appreciate it, and you were all right in many ways. I did need the help and this playgroup has helped, along with my forcibly leaving Baby Bun alone for a few hours every weekend with his father so that they bond.

(Eating cake also helps).

The first week was tough, I was still on edge, very antsy and twitching in my left eye, but by the second week, it was old hat.

Baby Bun has even stopped sobbing like his heart is breaking into a million pieces when I leave.

Some days, he doesn’t even cry at all, but does give me those big, huge, baby seal eyes (parents know what I am talking about), tracking my movements to the door as I turn to flee for a few precious hours.

He doesn’t sob though, and even smiles a little self-consciously as he watches me go, but I’m probably projecting.

WE ARE MAKING PROGRESS.

I am also starting to go out more with him to the park to profit from this warm snow-less weather that will not last, and I am starting to make progress in all the areas I plan on.

I GIVE UP ON REMOVING MY WHITE HAIRS

UGH.

I see them everywhere.

I used to pluck one or two of them out when I saw them but now.. I’ve given up.

They’re here to stay.

MY WHITE HAIRS ARE HERE TO STAY, PEOPLE.

I still haven’t decided if I ever want to start dying my hair or not.. or just go naturally grey and age as Nature intended.

There are natural dyes out there (using walnut shells!!) so that’s not a concern in terms of toxicity, but it’s more the principle of the matter.

Am I vain enough to dye out my hair to fake youth?

Time shall tell. I do find women who look wrinkled and old, very incongruous with their jet black or deep golden hair.

It looks so unnatural…. that’s what I want to avoid.

Why don’t men have to dye their hair? DOUBLE UGH.

WHY DO PEOPLE STAND SO CLOSE TO YOU IN LINE?

Anyway..

I am waiting in line at a store with Baby Bun and I feel this person behind me. Like RIGHT BEHIND ME, right up in my business.

I don’t have my purse or wallet there (not a pickpocket), but she was just standing SO CLOSE for no reason.

No sense of personal space, and not only that, she is not getting to a cashier any sooner than I am, by standing thisclose to me.

WHY?
WHY??!

Personal space, please. I know we need more of it in North America, but still.

MOM SHOES TOTALLY EXIST AND THEY ARE AWFUL

I wear “mom” jeans, that is, high-waisted numbers to feel comfortable (dark rinse, premium denim, not that vintage 80s washed stuff).

But mom shoes?

NO.

NUH UH.

Over my dead body.

I saw them on a mother, about my age, and I wanted to cry. I wanted to tell her she could buy comfortable shoes that didn’t look so terrible.

They looked like this, but far more hideous.

I didn’t even know they sold them:

More rubber everywhere, all white, and her feet looked potted.

I’d rather see Birkenstocks on someone than these hideous things.

There are so many other better sneakers out there, not as ugly, great support (or can have added Birkenstock support), but some moms seem to choose these ones.

They actually shocked me, I had never believed Clinton Kelly of What Not To Wear actually saw them, as I hadn’t seen them in a long time.
