I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.
What I’d wear to go meandering
Not for clothes, but maybe if I was planning on just wandering around some antique shops, or just hanging out downtown, or wandering around Old Montréal for the day. A light little snack at a bakery, some tea to hang out at a café – lots of walking, and meandering about, really.
I started with the top. I really wanted to wear it, I liked the drape-y feel of it, and the comfort it offers, and I thought I’d keep that comfort component with some culottes that basically look like a flow-y skirt but are actually shorts.
It’s comfortable, the culottes have deep pockets, I feel casual yet polished (the pointed huarache-esque flats really help with this sophisticated part), and the cuff lets me gesture wildly when I am talking because I’m super animated.
Speaking of this cuff, it’s simple soldered together concentric copper circles that have been patinaed:
I just gently open and close the cuff and wear it comfortably on my arm.
The cuff is no longer made or sold, but I found a gold lattice-work one that is shorter but has a similar feel for $40
I also have the top neatly twisted to the side to give it another draped look because it’s such an interesting drapey, modern-Grecian top. I can play with it in so many ways, which is what makes this top so interesting for me. I love that it has a subtly sexy look without being overt and in your face – as in, not skintight (which I do not love on myself..)
You can see the other ways I have styled the top here just letting it loose and hang out in a buffet friendly outfit – this is what it looks like when you don’t belt or do anything to it. You can literally stuff yourself as much as you want, and not a single button will show if you decide to unbutton the top button of your jeans. 😉
I particularly like this look I did a while back, where I left it loose and drapey, and wore a really pretty eyelash bralette underneath to peek out with a great leather belt. I like this one a lot, and plan on redoing the look in the near future:
And these shoes? SO. COMFY. I have them in caramel (shown), and silver. They’re woven with a huarache-style in the front, but updated for a modern twist. They no longer sell them, but once I saw them, I knew they would be a great essential piece in my wardrobe.
Et voilà !
