Sherry’s #OOTD Outfit of the Day Style & Fashion Look: The “Suits” Inspired Look with a Twist

I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.

This dress always reminds me of the show “Suits” of which Meghan Markle acted on and made famous by way of marrying royalty.

They would of course, NEVER wear this dress with this bright of a sleeve because it’s too far off from their sleek, chic, corporate style, let alone add an obi belt on top of it all.

I really love the bright pop of the magenta sleeves underneath the dress (who knew!?), and the navy obi belt is a lighter navy blue than the dress itself, but it adds another layer of texture with its scalloped edges.

I could have used the regular belt that came with the dress, and it would have toned down the look a bit, it looks like this which surprised me when I got it because usually the belts that come with the dress are CRAP, but this one was great:

I especially think this is quite a Suits-y dress because the sewn on draped bow at the neck, which is normally not my style (I prefer open or V-necklines), SCREAMS “Suits” to me!!!!

The obi belt also helps to really define my waist, seeing as I am not very curvy, and this adds a little something extra.

I kept it simple with a stone ring I got off eBay:

And the shoes are simple and neutral because the sleeves are bright, the bow is oversized and sexy, and the obi belt is already enough “look” for an outfit.

I am going to try this exact look but maybe with navy blue sleeves instead.
