Sherry’s #OOTD Outfit of the Day Style & Fashion Look: “The Sleeping on Snow Look”

I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.

The Sleeping on Snow Look

This is a very boho look to me. It’s what I’d imagine someone hanging out in the artsy neighbourhood of any city, wearing to walk to the market to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. Stereotypical? Maybe, but it’s darn comfortable and a very cool look.

The shrug is actually covered in gold flecks of cloth, which is hard to pick up but you can kind of see here a little better:

I made the necklace myself, out of sea stones I strung together with some gold beads, on a tiered chain, and then painted them gold.

The boots are only about 2″ high and when I bought them 8 years ago I wasn’t sure how often I’d wear them, but they are BELOVED boots. They’re a perfect, comfortable height, suede, and soft, with a nice dip down the front to show a bit of leg, while being a neutral. Literally a PERFECT boot.

I love this super soft eyelash shrug with gold flecks throughout because it’s so glamourous without being too glam, and so glam that you can’t wear it out on an everyday errand without feeling too ‘dressed up’. (Who am I kidding, I dress up all the time no matter what).

The cuff is a large, statement turquoise piece on hammered gold, which picks up the gold flecks in the shrug, and the necklace has gold flecks on it as well. The sea stone necklace also picks up colours in the shrug as well.

I also picked the booties in a neutral colour to go with the shrug and the gold, and to stop it from being so put together, I wore it with super distressed jeans, and I can just imagine painting in this outfit too, getting paint drips all over my jeans.

Am my own Sugar Daddy. Am a millionaire at 36 after getting out of $60K of student debt in 18 months, a little over a decade earlier, using TheBudgetingTool.com. I have worked 50% of my career (taking 1-2 year breaks), and quadrupled my income within 2 years of graduating, going from $65K to $260K with an average lifetime savings rate of 50%. I have 11 side incomes that are on track in 2020 to make me $50K - $75K. I could retire today if I wanted, but love my work-life balance as a freelancing consultant in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). I am all about balance - between time and money, and also enjoying my money. I also post daily on Instagram @saverspender.

Comfy, artsy and polished; definitely for strolling in style. I had to scroll back and confirm that you said 2″ on the boot heel. They have the illusion of being higher. Love the pop of turquoise!

YES! They look MUCH higher in the pictures because they’re thicker at the back and go a bit into the heel, but they’re only 2″…. they feel very comfortable. I wear 3″ and 4″ block heels on my other pairs, so when I put these ones on, they feel like flats.
