I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.
The Relaxed Cafe Lounger Look
I can just imagine wearing this, hanging out with some sunglasses at a café outside in Paris on one of those wicker chairs at a sidewalk cafe. I’d of course have a pain au chocolat while I sip on a super milky, hot tea, and I’d just people watch.
I don’t know why this look makes me think of hanging out on a café lounging around, but specifically in Paris, but it does. Maybe it’s the white shirt and the over the knee boots, making me think of The Three Musketeers. And the moody cocoon black sweater adds some gravity to the look.
I of course, added a cuff because I cannot help myself. It’s a random, basic b*ch cuff I found in a thrift store. I think I may end up upcycling it because it is screaming for a gem or something to be ‘sewn’ or attached to it some how.
The white shirt is Hugo Boss ( a men’s shirt ) I also found in a vintage store, and it was in perfect condition (no yellowing, no stains), and perfectly oversized which makes this look more slouchy and less tailored / put together. I like the slouchy-ness of the shirt with the slouchy cardigan, it goes together.
The jeans are a dark grey because I didn’t want to wear black + black cocoon sweater (TOO MUCH BLACK!!), and I like the dark grey because it goes with the warmer tones of the grey, as all greys kind of.. go together. The whole palette is neutral, and comfortable. VERY comfortable.
I also wanted the jeans to be very slim for two reasons:
- You cannot tuck them into over the knee boots or any boots if they aren’t
- The whole look on top is already super slouchy and blousy, I needed to have it a bit more tailored on the bottom
For the boots, I’d definitely not cheap out on them, buy the Aquatalia’s. End of discussion.
Don’t you think this cuff needs something? I do. I can’t imagine what yet, but I am working on it. Maybe it needs to be painted.
Oh and the boots are lined inside as well, and VERY easy to slip on by sliding them up. I am even eying a pair in a light beige …. I love them so.
