Sherry’s #OOTD Outfit of the Day Style & Fashion Look: “The Polished Spruce Look”

I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.

The Polished Spruce Look

I started with the skirt. I wanted to wear it for a look but NOT TO WEAR BLACK WITH IT. It’s so easy to pair white, cream, ivory or black with this shirt (or a combination!), and I wanted another fresh colour combination.

Once I saw this spruce green top, I knew it would go perfectly with the skirt. There is something about this inky spruce pine green look that creates a gorgeous colour combination with the black and ivory skirt.

I think it’s the formal bow of this elegant dark green shirt that lends well to the more formal look of the tuxedo skirt.

Can we also talk about this side view? That curved hem at the bottom is EVERY-THING, and with a large, substantial bow that I knot very lightly, the look is so elegant. I decided to tie it in somehow, with a bit of Bollywood glam in the gold lace cuff. There’s something about this dark green colour that makes me want to glam it up with gold.

This shirt is the Beverly by MM Lafleur and hands down, one of my most versatile work shirts that works perfectly outside of the office as well, and it comes in so many colours. I actually want it in a few more colours, but I loved this shirt and this colour enough to buy it in this inky dark green spruce colour.

Another look at that knot.

And this lace cuff is gold, delicate, intricate, with interlocking bands in matte gold and a shiny gold. I have them on either wrist, like Wonder Woman… but if Wonder Woman wore lace.

Only black heels in my brain, work with this skirt to pick up the black tipped lines in it.

I love the combination so much, spruce + black + ivory + gold. It’s really looks great as a work outfit.

I rarely am struck by outfits, but this one, like the cherry red, hits me just right. It is lovely, simple and elegant.
