I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.
The Parisian Lunch Look
So this is the look in its entirety, but I wanted to show the look without the jacket as well:
The jumpsuit is SO WELL MADE. I bought it on sale at retail, and I have never seen a better fitting jumpsuit than this one. The ones at mainstream stores are okay, but they’re just pieces of fabric sewn together with no style or pleating details.
The front of the jumpsuit was pleated as well as the pants, but then the waist is elastic at the back (hidden), and gives instant waist definition even without the attached belt, which helps a lot.
The jumpsuit also crops right at the ankle, and looks fantastic with heels or with flats. It zips up at the back as well, and this navy blue is my preferred dark neutral shade (along with charcoal grey), rather than black. I’d even love it in white or ivory.
The fabric is soft and drapey, and the flows well.
Then, I added a navy blue leather jacket that feels as comfortable to me as a sweater. It’s fitted well, not a thin leather, but a thick cosy one, and it has a bit of stretch in the shoulders and body, and it feels SO COMFORTABLE and warm.
The entire jumpsuit and jacket gives a great, minimalist monochromatic look because it all blends together without being too in your face, which is the look I was going for (hence “Parisian minimalist”), as it’s a look I could see the women in my (now) extended family wearing out for a lunch or even to work.
The heels are standard Manolo Blahnik lovelies. I basically only wear these or Banana Republic heels.
I added this cobalt blue YSL arty ring because I am obsessed with them, but also that I can’t help myself. I have a compulsive need to add a statement piece to any outfit I wear, either in a necklace, ring or cuff.
