Sherry’s #OOTD Outfit of the Day Style & Fashion Look: The Modern Tie Look

I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.

I wanted to play with the bow on this silk blouse, and came up with the idea of having it show outside of a more casual sweater and outfit, using it like a modern-style tie, borrowing a bit of the inspiration from menswear.

I love the look of it, but I think the sweater needs to be more of a deeper v-neck, or a crew neck. I am not sure I love having the silk shirt show up around the shoulders, I’d like to just see the silk ties hanging out by themselves…

This ring is a mix of bohemian + statement, and it was $5 secondhand!

I paired it with some silver flats to pick up the cream in the tie.

I also like the juxtaposition of the really formal tie bow blouse against the casual sweater and VERY casual jeans.
