I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.
The Grandpa Sweater Look
I love this black lace bralette to death. It’s perfect. It also isn’t just for smaller busted women, I hear that even larger busted women love it from reviews. It’s just.. a perfect top. It really is. But enough about this bralette, let’s talk about this sweater.
I found it in a thrift store. I picked it up only because I brushed the sleeve of it, and loved the kind of salt and pepper mix, with this kind of knit where it looks like it’s a bunch of fuzzy loops (?); I have no idea what it’s called but I liked how it looked fuzzy in the front but was a ribbed knit on the sleeves.
I originally bought to to resell it because grandpa cardigans are becoming in vogue these days…. but I ended up loving it so much, I never listed it. I like the slouch, the colour, the knit, and the way the front is open in a very deep V that has a TINY snap button in the front
See what I mean about the front? A knitted loop sweater look in the front, mixed with a flat knit. The necklace is a DIY piece. It is literally a gold-plated pendant of a slice of agate, that I bought off eBay and slung onto a vintage chain I found in a thrift store because it goes SO PERFECTLY together like it was meant to be.
I decided since the top was so sexy, I went with slouchier, larger jeans instead. They used to fit tighter but have loosened over time, and also because I lost weight, and now aren’t skintight any more, which goes well with this look. These AG Farrah jeans feel like pajamas and remain my Holy Grail of jeans.
The shoes, which I own in this silver and in a caramel, are huarache-inspired flats but elevated. They’re chic, comfortable, and perfect for work as well.
I do love it when a sweater slips off a shoulder too, especially a slouchy grandpa one. It just seems to be a perfect casual + sexy, a nice mix of feminine + masculine.
