Sherry’s #OOTD Outfit of the Day Style & Fashion Look: “The French Farmer’s Market Look”

I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.

The French Farmer’s Market Look

WHY DO I NEVER CUFF MY JEANS IN THESE SHOTS!? O_o  I need to put up some mini rules for myself when I take photos I think “check jean cuffs”, and “check bra straps and any straps sticking out”….

Anyway, I love this Breton striped shirt, one of my first purchases in Paris when I visited a long time ago for the first time. If you want a similar Breton striped shirt, this one from Mathilde is one I’d buy (plus it’s cheaper at $85) if I wanted to replace my Saint James one (I find the Saint James one very sleek and smooth in terms of fabric, and too polyester like, and I would prefer a cotton jersey modal version). If you want 100% cotton (another contender for a future replacement), this APC Breton Striped one is perfection and at $150.

I of course, found the entire Paris trip miserable AF because I happened to walk under a certain oak tree and these rare, tiny little mites showered upon me, and bit me all over my face during the night. I woke up the next day, having planned to spend a MONTH IN PARIS, completely covered in thick, red bug bites and welts that itched like crazy all over my body.

Turns out, I happened to wander across the ONE TREE in Paris that houses RARE oak tree mites, and NO ONE ELSE in the entire damn city had this issue. Only me. And I was feckin’ miserable. I was itchy, I looked like I had the bubonic plague, and it soured me on Paris ever since. Oh, and I stayed a month. By the time I came back home, most of the bug bites had swelled down, but I’ll be damned if I didn’t look like I had a serious case of acne for the next month or so.

Horrific. And the pharmacists there were baffled. They had literally never seen that in their life.

Anyway. I call this the French Farmer’s Market look because it looks like I am about to go pick up some fruits and vegetables, right!? Maybe not with this incredible Dagne Dover tote (a little too fancy for freshly picked food), but the entire look is simple and pretty with some delicate gold cuffs.

Here’s a nice awkward outtake from the shoot. HAH! This was before I bought my Camkix Bluetooth outfit wireless remote control thingamajig, and I had to literally run back and forth towards the phone to tap the Timer + Shot to take pictures.

(I worked up a sweat during these initial photo sessions.)

The heel is high on these boots but because it’s a stacked heel, they feel as comfortable as flats. Stilettos are the most uncomfortable, no matter what brand you buy because the heel is just a tiny stick, but a thick blocky heel is secure and safe and comfy to stomp around in.

I kept it simple – you can’t go wrong with stripes, jeans and neutral bag + boots. Not much style effort here.
