I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.
The Fourth Musketeer Look
I think the cocoon cape paired with the over the knee boots immediately makes me think of a Musketeer. I just need a feathered hat, and a cutlass to finish the look.
The top is not a top at all but this amazing black lace bralette which makes this look RIDICULOUSLY COMFORTABLE. It’s stretchy, and I can always just wrap this cocoon sweater around me if I feel chilly. I cannot believe how many times I have used this lace bralette as an underneath-shirts thing, or even just as a top like this.
I added the dark grey jeans because I felt like it let it blend the black sweater into the dark grey boots, rather than something super black as a jean that would make this look… just too dark.
I added my super expensive (at the time I bought it, I couldn’t believe I paid so much money for a piece of jewellery), necklace where it’s a peacock feather tucked under a beveled glass topper. It’s made by an artisan on Etsy, and she even had a spider’s web underneath the glass which I liked, but ultimately decided was too spooky for my vibe.
In the right light, that feather shines. I also love these boots. I tried to save money and buy cheaper versions like Steve Madden knockoffs of these Aquatalia boots but when I tried them on in-store, I could IMMEDIATELY feel the boot was uncomfortable, light, cheap and not at all what I wanted to walk around all day in. Even sight unseen, I knew these Aquatalias would be gold.
I got them secondhand, in grey and black, and grey is a ridiculously versatile colour that goes with all shades from beige to blacks to greys… it’s incredible how much I love these grey boots. They come in walnut and black in limited sizes here, with a heel for a very good price if you’re interested.
One of my favourite looks to date. This cocoon sweater is E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!!!!!!
