I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.
The Environmentalist Look
Environmentalist, only solely because it is green and white. Very earthy. Also, almost all of the pieces are secondhand except the sweater though not all of it, which isn’t very eco-friendly honestly, but I needed a name for this look so I can keep them all apart in my head (I schedule these looks for the month) and Earth Mother didn’t seem to fit.
I also love the knit shrug over a fuzzy looser sweater. I could have done a tighter-knit turtleneck or sweater underneath, and it would have looked equally as good, but I wanted to play with a small balloon/bishop sleeve on the white sweater against a loose chunky knit, to give some visual contrast and interest from the sides…
I am in love (again) with this knit sweater duster thing. I didn’t think it would be a versatile piece, but I keep seeing outfits in my head where it pops up and adds that extra, textural, chunky knit look of casual but cosy… without being a huge blanket wrapped around me.
The heels are a given – I mean, green and green? And considering the overall palette is already cream and white, you can pair any colour combination on top of this, which is why white, ivory and creams are some of my favourite base colours to wear. They are from my favourite mainstream brand for heels, but you need to buy these ones, not the others.
The necklace has a light green stone in the middle, and it matches so perfectly with the knit shrug and the heels that I couldn’t have planned it better if I had tried. It’s a Stella and Dot pendant piece (called.. I want to say, Galaxy or something like that, as the matching counterpart is called Soleil or Sun in a yellow-stone pendant).
I like long hanging pendant necklaces on higher-neck tops like this crew neck sweater because I feel like it gives it an open canvas to really be showcased. I could have also done a collar-style necklace to mimic the neckline, but this look called for a more artsy, bohemian vibe that is reminiscent of Frankie from Grace and Frankie (you should know by now how obsessed I am with the show).
Again. Ripped Jeans + Heels = Perfection.
