Sherry’s #OOTD Outfit of the Day Style & Fashion Look: “The Banana Split Look”

I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.

The Banana Split Look

Can I just say.. this has made it into one of my all-time favourite looks that I will definitely wear again. The yellow top is polyester (eww…) but it is everything I had hoped it would be with its split back giving it visual interest.

I based the ENTIRE look around this yellow top being the “must-have” piece, and then just added some plain jeans, and went from there.

I tried on 3 or 4 different necklaces before I settled onto my old favourite – the Pegasus from Stella and Dot, or my Ruth Bader Ginsburg necklace. If you want a necklace a little more subtle, you can try the Baby Pegasus necklace .. or maybe the Pegasus bracelet or the Pegasus earrings.

Back to the necklace. It’s a beautifully constructed piece, with gold and bronze feathers cascading down, and is a beautiful collar statement that goes well in tone with this yellow top.

I like the idea of it looking good from the front (with a statement necklace), and then when you turn, the back is also interesting with a split back.

The heels are simply because they matched well. I usually shy away from overly matchy-matchy items, but the camel spot just fit so perfectly into this clothing narrative that I couldn’t imagine any other neutral shoe doing the same job, except if it was in gold, perhaps.

LOVE THIS LOOK.

Am my own Sugar Daddy. Am a millionaire at 36 after getting out of $60K of student debt in 18 months, a little over a decade earlier, using TheBudgetingTool.com. I have worked 50% of my career (taking 1-2 year breaks), and quadrupled my income within 2 years of graduating, going from $65K to $260K with an average lifetime savings rate of 50%. I have 11 side incomes that are on track in 2020 to make me $50K - $75K. I could retire today if I wanted, but love my work-life balance as a freelancing consultant in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). I am all about balance - between time and money, and also enjoying my money. I also post daily on Instagram @saverspender.
