Sherry’s #OOTD Outfit of the Day Style & Fashion Look: “The All Textured Look”

I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.

The All Textured Look

This shirt is the Beverly by MM Lafleur is another perfect colour that I consider to be an almost-neutral. It’s so close to being a neutral in my wardrobe because it goes with ALL the neutrals, plus colours like magenta pink for instance.

In this case, I paired it with a vegan black leather skirt (I cannot figure out for the life of me how to ‘iron’ this skirt to get the wrinkles out), and the entire effect was a little too va-va-voom for me, so I threw on a cosy, unexpected bohemian shrug.

I am not sure, something about the look is off. I think because it’s so corporate chic with an edge (leather skirt), adding the bohemian shrug may have thrown it left field, a little too far from the actual look, and yet, the more I look at it, the more I like it. I like how the shrug softens the leather in the skirt, and the entire outfit being dark and too moody.

Nothing but black heels work with this look, I tried it with dark brown but it looked so off that I needed to swap them out with black.

Misgivings aside, I will say that this shrug is GREAT. It’s an eyelash cardiganwith gold flecks of cloth sewn in, and it has a nice kimono feel to it, without being an actual kimono (OH! A kimono would be perfect with this look too)…. and I like how soft and snuggly I feel and look in this shrug.

Pointed heels. You can’t go wrong.

I would wear this entire outfit, but maybe with a different topper. It might be too soft and bohemian for the entire vibe, though.. I like it. I strangely like the oddness of the ivory shrug with the rest of the moody look.

I love this look! I recreated it with similar pieces, but it wasn’t as fabulous with a wool pencil skirt. I think I need a leather skirt in my wardrobe…

This one is fake leather, and I’d much prefer real leather except I was dipping my toe into the look and found this one secondhand….
