Sherry’s #OOTD Outfit of the Day Style & Fashion Look: “Go Fishing, but make it Fashion”

I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.

Go Fishing, but make it Fashion

A fisherman’s sweater is a staple in my wardrobe. Stripes? CHECK. Cool stripes? CHECK. Nothing that looks cheap? CHECK.

Well. I should take back the last one. It doesn’t look cheap TO ME because I can see the detail in the sweater that would otherwise not be in a fast fashion piece. If you look closely at it, you can see the stripes are actually intertwined, woven pieces of cotton, to MAKE UP the stripes.

I started with the striped sweater and then just added the jeans – distressed because I felt like it, the heels… and that’s about it as a base outfit. I always start with a base outfit of a few pieces, and then riff on it by adding a different bag, or jewellery.

In this case, this beautiful insect bug bee necklace. It’s blue-ish, but bright and colourful enough to be a collared piece that it goes with the look without overpowering it. Kind of like having a canvas of a plain uniform / outfit, and then adding some icing on top:

Ripped jeans and heels. It’s a combo I can’t get enough of, honestly.

Also, did you notice the woven cotton white stripe in the sweater? Dior did a magnificent job because it’s so nautical, and yet not a boring white and blue knit. It’s a white cotton twisted strand that creates the white stripes in the look, adding texture and interest.

And it’s one of my favourite looks… Casual but dressy.

I have 11 side incomes that are on track in 2020 to make me $50K - $75K.
