Sherry’s #OOTD Outfit of the Day Style & Fashion Look: “A Berry Good Mix Look”

I post my outfits on the blog every day at noon (12 p.m. EST) under this Style category #OOTD Daily Style and then I do a summary of all the looks in my Month of Style roundup at the end of the month.

A Berry Good Mix Look

I just really wanted to wear this top with this necklace. I’ll admit that as the starting point. The colour of this top is one of my favourites (obviously). It reminds me of ripe raspberries with a hint of purple, and is a DELICIOUS colour. When I saw the top on a hanger in a store, I knew I had to buy it, and luckily it was on sale. The colour just reached out to me, and the pleats in front made it special rather than some boring silk magenta top (which I can find anywhere).

I will say that I am not 100% happy with the trousers to be honest. I now wish I had worn jeans or skinny trousers instead.

The rest was just the addition of white trousers (I refrained from pairing jeans with this, particularly distressed ones), and some heels. I think I am starting to sway away from the trousers + heels look that I was so fond of for work because it looks very dated at the moment. I feel like what my style is now these days, is more a straight-legged, cropped cigarette trouser with heels and this top, rather than a straight-legged trouser which is what I used to always wear.

I think white, wide-legged trousers or pants, in my head, are now in my style aesthetic or category if you will, of if I want to look like a Lady Who Lounges. You know, the kind that wears expensive gold flat sandals with these kinds of white flowy trousers, and a huge sun hat? That kind of look, not this corporate trouser thing I have going on.

I love the look of this magenta pleated top as a backdrop against this necklace. It just.. was meant to be. I find it difficult to pair necklaces (normally) with this pleated top that aren’t simple, delicate chains because I feel like it takes away from the pleats, but in this case, it is like it enhances the necklace.

A great pair of pointed heels peeking out is still perfection.
