4 – 4:30 a.m.

I always used to wake up early (around 6 a.m.) but 4 a.m. is VERY early for me and a new thing because inevitably, Baby Bun is waking me up, crying for some milk. He’s usually standing in his bed, smacking things and making himself heard and generally squealing for milk.

I blearily walk into the kitchen, pull out a bottle of milk, unscrew the top and microwave it for 13 seconds so it isn’t freezing cold.

I head over to his room, climb onto his futon and hand him the bottle.

P.S. You can buy an , free shipping worldwide with a few country restrictions, or here if you want an all-cotton one made in the U.S. instead.

As he feeds himself, I yawn and do nothing because I’m still tired. Sometimes I nap while he’s feeding.

5 a.m.

Baby Bun is usually done his bottle by now, so I pick him up, wipe his mouth, change his diaper out of his night diaper into a cloth one, and get him into his baby chair so that he is contained in one spot and I am able to do things like make breakfast.

If I am hungry that morning, I prepare a bowl of oatmeal with a spoonful of honey and eat it.

5:30 a.m. – 7 a.m.

I am playing with Baby Bun, dressing, changing his diaper if he made a mess…

Around this time, I start my morning routine while he’s playing at my feet.

I go to the bathroom, exfoliate with , which is really gross because I can see all this dead face skin rolling off..

Then I wash my face with Paula’s Choice cleanser, cover with a salicylic acid liquid, and moisturize with Holistic Vanity’s moisturizer.

This routine has totally, 100% changed my skin life. I no longer suffer from hormonal acne as badly as I used to because I am really getting rid of the dead skin off my face and keeping it clear.

Then depending on whether I go to work or not, I put on makeup.

I don’t wear much makeup these days ever since Paula’s Choice has entered my skincare regime.

Just a bit of foundation on the parts of my face with a bit of pigmentation that has yet to fade, concealer for under my eyes, a soft eyeliner, eyeshadow optional, blush optional and a good dusting of Makeup Forever’s HD Finish powder to keep shine at bay.

As for my outfits, I always set them out the night before so I don’t think about what I have to wear.

All my outfits are here on Instagram:

I’ve made a few mistakes in the morning but couldn’t change my outfit because it would mean going back to the bedroom, and waking up my partner so I just wear whatever mistake I made and kick myself all day for having chosen it.

My latest failure was wearing a cotton dress with velvet tights and forgetting a slip underneath, so the cotton basically stuck to the velvet tights like velcro every time I walked.

FRUSTRATING.

My second last failure was this Japanese office worker vibe I had going on with my vintage Burberry pleated navy skirt (that was way too long), and this top with a navy bow on it.

Terrible. It was a hot mess. I hated the entire outfit.

Anyway.

When I am done in the bathroom, sometimes I do a little yoga while he’s playing on the floor. He giggles when I am in Downward Dog because I look upside down to him.

At 7 a.m. I get ready to leave for work.

 7:45 a.m.

I’m at work and when I am there the first thing I do is drop my bag off at my desk, snap an Instagram outfit picture if what I wore today was cute, and go prepare myself a cup of tea.

What is non-negotiable in my morning is a cup of tea.

I like Brazillionaire, Buttered Rum or Coconut Oolong from David’s Tea with a good healthy dose of milk and a spoonful of honey.

A-Cup-of-Tea

At around 7:45 a.m. I’m ready to start working.

8 a.m.

Work work work work work.

12 noon

Lunch at noon is very welcome. I never eat and work at the same time.

I take a long lunch and I like to chat and enjoy my food and socialize while doing so. I eat mostly chicken during the week with a lot of steamed vegetables, mixed with pasta or rice.

I don’t drink juice or any other liquid except water or tea during the day.

It’s the best thirst quencher.

5 p.m.

When it’s time to go I’m out the door. OUT THE DOOR.

Another 45 minutes and I am home, if I don’t run errands beforehand.

I sometimes drop off at the grocery store or at the post office.

5:45 p.m.

It takes me a billion times to park my car perfectly because I like it being perfectly centered. I head on up to the mail room, check to see what came in the mail, then take the elevator up to the apartment.

The minute the key turns in the apartment, I hear the pitter-patter of Baby Bun crawling as hard and as fast as he can towards the door because he knows it’s me.

It’s gratifying to see this HUGE grin on his face when he sees me.

I ask him if he’s been a good baby so far, and Daddy replies for him. When he’s been a terrible baby, I scold him gently and tell him he can’t give Daddy a hard time.

When he’s been a great baby, I tell him so and I cuddle & kiss him.

I am not sure how much this gets absorbed by him at this age!!

6 p.m.

I am taking off my makeup with some makeup wipes then cleaning my face with Paula’s Choice again with a layer of salicylic acid and my Holistic Vanity moisturizer.

I change into my loungewear for home which includes my Skin brand Illuminating sweatpants, and some random soft t-shirt with an oversized thrifted men’s cashmere sweater.

Baby Bun loves that sweater because he likes lint and it’s covered in lint (what!? it’s true!).

6:15 p.m.

I usually end up feeding Baby Bun around this time, and then I play with him and chat with my partner until it’s bedtime.

7 p.m.

I change him into his sleeper, get his nighttime bottle ready and then get him to bed.

Then I grab his diaper pail and start laundry.

7:15 p.m.

I finally end up having time to eat some light dinner with my partner and/or watch some shows (current playlist: Castle, Modern Family, Elementary, The Mentalist, Project Runway All Stars, Top Chef) and reply to emails.

Before I sleep, I pick out what I want to wear for the next day and hang it in the bathroom.

8 p.m.

I take off my contacts, brush my teeth and head to bed. I lie in there thinking about everything that went wrong or well that day, and try to relax with a little reading on my Kobo Glo.

I usually read for about 15 minutes to half an hour, and then I turn it off, flip over and I am totally, utterly zonked out until 4 a.m.
