MY BODY TYPE & SHOPPING PREFERENCES
I am normally a US 4 on bottoms (Designer US 4, Banana Republic 2, J. Crew 4 for the upper half like for jackets, or J. Crew 2 for the bottoms).
I’m an inverted triangle and normally wear an Small or 2 (smallest sizes in all mainstream brands except for designer brands where I usually take a US 4).
I am also 5’6″ and fairly slim overall. Small busted (A cup).
I will say for my shoulders I ALWAYS take a size larger than the bottom, like a US 6 in designer brands, or a US 4 in Banana Republic, or a J. Crew US 4 for instance, because my shoulders are large, my torso is wider after the pregnancy, but my body is slim overall.
I am super picky and hate itchy items of any kind because I have eczema (most wool-items and wool-blends are out, or anything unlined), too-tight things and anything that doesn’t look or feel expensive and wonderful.
$9 is $90 is $900. The price makes no difference to me.
52 CONVERSATIONS COLLOQUIAL SHIRT
Original 52 Conversations colloquial prints are here, but they have MORE Anthropologie Colloquial Button-downs here. They also have super cute sleeveless prints here.
I bought this Marble Print in a SIZE TWO Petite.
OMG. Size two. I was really praying to the shopping gods it would fit on this one because no other size was available.
AND IT FITS!
There is quite a bit of excess fabric though, even in a Size 2…
I love the marble print — it doesn’t come across well but it is just as pretty as online, and as bright as I expected, knowing how shopping / stock photos are Photoshopped online.
A nice fit in the back with a slight curved hem:
And it fits in the shoulders well too, even in my US 6 shoulder:
POP PRINT COLLOQUIAL SHIRT
I bought this type of print for my mother and tried it on:
I don’t LOVE the print for my mom. So I am returning it.
it did look cool tied up and over some striped pants:
CARTONNIER LANDEN STRIPED PAPERBAG WAIST TIE PANTS
I also bought the Cartonnier Landen striped pants in a Size 4 because I loved the look:
But MAN THE SIZE 4 is TIGHT. REALLY TIGHT.
I would have needed a size 6 or even an 8 to breathe and eat.
The back looks fine too, and the fabric is super comfortable and soft.
Looks good from the front too and is a good high waisted fit:
SOME UGLY SILK SHIRT BY MOULINETTE SOEURS
Freaking ugly. The pattern and print looked much prettier online, I guess it was a unique handmade piece, so you have to be in-person to choose the right print with the right fabrics.
I got sent this mix and it is.. just.. FUGLY.
Looks even worse at the back. I will never let my mother wear this. I returned it immediately.
