My Wardrobe Collection: Scarves and more scarves, galore!

As requested by reader Xi, I am posting my current wardrobe of scarves.

My favourite scarves are the cashmere ones I wear in winter because they’re cosy around my neck and very practical when snow and cold, harsh winds are blowing, which brings me to the ones I own:

WHITE AND WARREN TRAVEL CASHMERE WRAP – $300

I own this exact travel wrap in Oatmeal. It has served as a pseudo winter jacket for when I went to Asia in summer, stayed until autumn and came back to snow in Canada where I wrapped it around my torso and held an umbrella against the falling snow.

I also have a White and Warren scarf, in white (no longer pictured on their site), but I don’t use it as much because it isn’t so big and obnoxiously cosy. I use it when it isn’t very warm outside but I want something cuddly around my neck:

TILO SCARVES – $125 EACH

You can buy these at Holt Renfrew or TNT in Canada, or in specialty, independent shops, you know, the ones by Summerhill or Rosedale TTC stations on Yonge Street?

They are made in Mongolia on 100-year old looms and are soft, luxurious and really nice to wrap around my neck.

I own these two:

SILK COBALT BLUE & WHITE DOTTED SCARF – 40 EUR

Bought this in Madrid. It’s a souvenir scarf and it’s super soft and luxurious.

PIERRE LOUIS MASCIA MULTI-PRINT SCARF – 135 EUR

Ridiculously expensive… but this scarf is SO SOFT, and comes in a multi-print, which means depending on the way you knot it, you can choose to show different parts of the scarf with the giraffe print, or the stripes.. or all!

I was holding the scarf while waiting in line, and a chic French girl stopped me to ask me where I found it. What she didn’t know was that it was the only one left and I snagged it.

INOUITOOSH COTTON STRIPED BLUE SUMMER SCARF – 67.50 EUR

I am a sucker for stripes, particularly well co-ordinated coloured stripes.

This one is 100% cotton and very light. Perfect for summer nights.

METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART RED AND WHITE POPPIES SCARF – $50

Bought this as a souvenir scarf in NYC. I just love the print of the Red and White poppies SO MUCH.

It’s silk, but the silk is pretty cheap. Not at all soft, feels a bit like polyester…. but the print is what I am really after.

MICHELE MORGAN ORCHIDS SCARF – $2

Found at a vintage shop in a bin. The colours spoke to me and it’s a square scarf and a bit short, so I find it a bit awkward tying it around my neck because I feel like a stewardess or something.

ETSY LES MISERABLES INFINITY SCARF – $50

Love love LOVE Les Miserables. I got this infinity book scarf and it’s pretty cool / unique. I get compliments on it all the time.

CHAPTERS PINK MARBLE SCARF – $35

This is the only non-vibrant-print-coloured scarf I own in a soft pink pastel (prettier than depicted in this photo below). I am not really a fan of pastels or pink, but sometimes you need a softly coloured scarf to go with your outfit because a bold colour doesn’t go with the theme.

JASON WU FOR TARGET SCARF – $10

I lined up for hours in Toronto for the pop-up shop and came away with this scarf. They also had a scarf with some cat print on there but I don’t really have an affinity for animals, so I gave it up to someone else who really wanted it.

Anyway, I ended up with this scarf that has a really pretty blue print on it. It is the ONLY SCARF in my entire collection that isn’t a natural fabric like wool, cotton, linen or silk.

The ONLY scarf. This is how much I like it.
