Minimalist Autumn / Fall Capsule Wardrobe

Autumn is upon us, and capsule wardrobes are all the rage.

Basically, autumn is all about it being warm some days, and cold the next. Layering is key (did you know the origins of layering come from the military?), and having OPTIONS for when it is cool one day, but then warm the next, are also key.

Personally, I tried a capsule wardrobe and it just isn’t for me because I like too much variety. I like having different personas, where one day I am a cosy tea-drinking hipster, and the next, I am a sleek camel-coatted bootie wearing ingenue.

Capsule wardrobes remove that kind of creativity (some call it stress LOL) out of dressing, but if you are someone who doesn’t have time nor the energy to care or think about dressing, then capsule wardrobes would be for you — and would save a ton of time. I can understand that.

Me, I love being creative, but if I had to, this is what I’d stick to on a limited wardrobe:

The Autumn / Fall Capsule Wardrobe List

Obviously, my wardrobe above works only for a business casual environment at best.

Your pants clearly can’t be jeans or chinos all the time if you’re working for a bank (you need to wear a suit or at least collared shirts), so take this capsule wardrobe with a grain of work salt.

Note: As of this post, these items are available; but things change. I am putting the pieces in the order (as best I can) that you see in the photos in price points from $$$ / $$ / $ where possible, including PLUS sizing.
