In Style, What I bought

March 2021: What I bought

What I bought

A few beautiful gems this month! If you want to watch instead, the video is here:

Vintage Salt & Pepper Shakers: Princess + Frog = $35

I picked up these vintage salt and pepper shakers because it was a whim and a kitschy purchase. I don’t know what made me do it but it’s fun and Little Bun is IN LOVE WITH THEM. Little Bun likes making them kiss (magnets), and they’re cute. I normally don’t buy home decor AT ALL but these spoke to me for some reason and I am sure I grossly overpaid.

Hermès Vintage Kelly (1952) = $5470.91

THIS BAG. This bag is getting her own video, but I love it so far. It’s an Hermès bag from 1952, two years before Grace Kelly made it famous, and it is pretty much THE ONE she has in the Grace Kelly museum / exhibit of her items.

It’s a piece of vintage history.

Stella Jean Omepatia Dress (Purple) – $312.39

I am so glad I got a size 42 because damn the sizing is TINY. The entire bust and skirt part is fine, but the waist is JUST RIGHT. It isn’t tight, it at least zips up, but the bust is really open and the skirt is really voluminous.

The skirt is a hobble skirt so I will have to get a vent put in the back so I can walk properly (I am not a hobbler… sorry.), and I will have to take in the shoulders as it’s too loose, but it’s a stunning dress.

The print is fun, the vegetable is definitely a radish and not some exotic fruit!!!.. and I love the DEEP DEEP POCKETS.

Stella Jean Skirt – $167.42

Okay this one, I can barely.. barely zip up to even just the waistband. I took it in a size 40 and my goodness it has to be taken out if I can because the waist is T-I-G-H-T.

The print is fun, it is just beautiful, tulip leaf front, SUPER DEEP POCKETS (she knows how to design for women), and the pockets are exaggerated so they make my slim hips look curvier.

A very beautiful, well-made piece, but .. for the love of all things holy, size up. Take a 42 if you are a US4.. do not believe them that a US 4 = 40 because it doesn’t.

SIZE UP!

YSL Arty Gold Flower Ring – $250

I have wanted a YSL arty ring for very long in this style. Normally I go for the big stone rings with different colours, but this is the gold flower version that is just stunning.

I want the matching necklace for sure but I AM NOT PAYING $1000 USD for it. Bloody hell…. I will pay if I find it under $500 CAD but not more.

Gunmetal body fringe necklace – $15

I was going to upcycle it but now I want to keep it as-is. I love really big statement pieces and this fringe is a lot of fun. I blame Padma Lakshmi on Top Chef for enabling me because her body necklaces are really beautiful as well.

She knows how to design for women. Except for the SUPER TINY WAIST on these pieces, I’d sing praises for days on end.
