In Budget Roundups, Money

March 2015 Budget Roundup = $342,690.27 or an increase of +$13,447.40 or +4.08

LOOKING BACK

March.. oh March. Why did I ever let myself just browse Simons and discover how AWESOME IT IS FOR SHOPPING!?

*sigh*

Wait until you see my epic purchases.

Also, in between all the shopping and working, this became a very rushed budget post. I would have spent more time on this but this past month has been CRR-AZY.

INCOME = $18,965.58

  • This is mostly from my day job, and it’s gross earnings, but taxes will come at the end of the year.

EXPENSES = $2905.86

  • Made it under $3000! The number should be lower though, I returned a lot of stuff.

Sherry of Save. Spend. Splurge.

I got out of $60,000 of debt in 18 months using TheBudgetingTool.com. Since then, I have worked 50% of my career (taking 1-2 year breaks), and quadrupled my income within 2 years of graduating, going from $65K to $260K (savings rate = 85%). I could retire today if I wanted, but love my work-life balance as a freelancing consultant in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). I also post daily on Instagram @saverspender.

    That sounds like an awesome month! Nice work for keeping your spending so low compared to your income. That’s like a 84% savings rate?

      Yes it isn’t so bad. 84% but I have to keep in mind all the months/years I don’t work full time. 🙂 hence why I need to save more when I do

    Looks like you had a great month.

    My own net worth went up about 4% as well. I crossed the $200K mark for the first time, so that was pretty exciting.

    My wife has a tendency to buy a lot of things and return at least half of it. It is so bizarre to me. I may never understand.

    Cheers!

      Congratulations!! I’m aiming for $400,000 by the end of this year..

      I am just like your wife. I buy a ton and then return about 90% of it. I’m very picky.

    Wooo! Baby Bun’s raking in the dough! Faster than me even. O_O;;

    Also, why fermented cod liver pills? I’m taking omega 3s right now.

      I know right? He is killing it. Fermented cod liver pills seem to be regulating my hormones which contributes to my acne. I’m not done the bottle yet but I am seeing a big difference in my skin before and after. I want to finish the bottle before I say anything though. Fermented cod liver pills are also another type of high antioxidants/ good stuff. I tried omega-3s but they did nothing for my skin…

    Okay, I know shopping is bad when you are on a budget. But I LOVE the clothes.
