STILL GIVING AWAY THIS RING!
Ends tomorrow! Enter here.
WHAT I READ
Okay so I haven’t been posting what I’ve been reading so far because I just keep forgetting until the end of the month, which means I run out of time and forget to do it.
Pretty much every single Lilian Jackson Braun for young adults book has been on my reading list.
It’s about these two Siamese cats with a writer who solve mysteries. Juvenile? Perhaps but the writing is pretty good and the mysteries are engrossing enough. They ain’t no Sherlock Holmes, but they are still interesting reads.
I also read:
I love all of Kinsella’s books. She’s just a damn good author, but I will admit this book fell a little flat for me. It wasn’t as engaging as the others in the Shopaholic line and I felt like she jumped the shark a little.
I also hate cliffhangers. This book leaves you hanging until the next one. Had I known this, I would have waited and read them both at once.
WHAT I BOUGHT
GAP SOFT CREW-NECK SHIRTS = $10 for 2

This is mostly for sleep, to be honest. Sleepwear is required and I got these on a major discount.
GAP HIGH-WAISTED LIGHT WASH JEANS = $65
OK so I am normally not a retro light wash jean fan, but this is the closest I will ever come to white jeans, methinks.
They look kinda cute. It has a nice look with a white t-shirt too
ANASTASIA EYEBROW PENCIL = $10 (HAD A SEPHORA CREDIT)
Finally got a spare eyebrow pencil. My Bonne Bell Tiger’s Eye pencil from 7 years ago is finally whittling down to a stub, so I bought a more grown-up Anastasia eyebrow pencil for only $10 because I had 10% off and a $20 gift card.
That’s it.
I surprisingly didn’t go crazy in the wardrobe area this month. The only truly unnecessary purchase were the jeans, because the shirts were to replace old hole-y ones I turned into rags.

In July I was obsessed with Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. I watched it on Netflix and loved it. It’s an Aussie mystery show set in the 1920’s, where the main character grew up poor, inherited a title and money, and moves from England to Australia and becomes a detective.
The main character is a woman and she’s funny, brilliant, and she’s a very strong character. The show is based on a series of mystery novels by an Aussie writer. I highly recommend it. The show has gained a following in countries like the U.S. and England. And I *love* the clothes she wears!
I totally recommend it!
save. spend. splurge.
I am making an note to watch it.

Is it just me, or did Gap photoshop the hell of of that model’s knee and lower thigh?
I’ve never tried Gap’s t-shirts before – are they really stretchy, or are they more like a standard cotton blend?

Impressively short list! Sadly mine would be much, much longer. Need to do better in August!
