Abigail Disney has more money than she’ll ever spend and she’s sort of ashamed about it in a way. She’s the granddaughter of that man immortalized in a statue above. She also grew up with money in the sense that they had it, but it was more her parents who really started embracing it as they got older. A really interesting read.

This is a great article talking about why “self-made” success is a myth. I really like the honesty in this article. It is true that you cannot ask people (especially women) to share how they became so successful without then turning around and crapping on them if they had a startup loan from their parents or had no student loans. For women, the money judgement is always harsher.

As for me, my parents didn’t help me with my loans, nor pay anything towards anything after I turned 19, but they did shelter, clothe and feed me until 19. They also knew nothing about money, so couldn’t help me learn how to budget & track my expenses to get out of $60K of debt. I did that on my own in 18 months.

I am resisting VERY HARD to not want this long soft maxi trench coat in khaki green. I have p-l-e-n-t-y of coats, but there is something about a loose, trench that makes my heart flutter.

This is hilarious. Ed O’Neill is one of my favourite actors of all time, from Married with Children to Modern Family, and him playing Who’s This (Celebrity) on The Ellen Show is so funny and cute.

The striped dress I want finally goes on sale, and I put myself on a shopping ban. Go figure. Doesn’t mean YOU can’t benefit though. This dress (I tried it on) is chic and very well made.
