In the world of Save. Spend. Splurge.: Where Millionaires are happy because of their money. Duh.
Is anyone surprised? I am not. Millionaires, especially decamillionaires with $10M or more, if they have earned the money, are significantly happier. I know money can make you happy, no one said it couldn’t. I just think TOO much money can be a detriment as well…
I reviewed the pointed Franco Sarto loafer on the blog, but this FS is another take on the pointed loafer, and far more sleek/minimalist vibe, which I am digging. And now I sort of want these as they are FULLY leather with no synthetic leather insole.
I absolutely loved this Air Canada commercial with Sandra Oh (she is a fantastic actress and Canadian to boot):
Being busy, is eliminating the joy of shared time… I can kind of see this. I don’t really spend time with my partner as often as we used to. When I am home, he is out getting his stuff done without Little Bun (trust me, Little Bun is a horrible little shopper and I absolutely loathe going out with him unless I am forced to, or we are alone and without my partner), and when he is home I am out getting my own stuff done, and taking a break. I feel like we barely see or talk to each other except at dinner times or in the morning before he has to get back to studying and I need to now get prepped for work.
If you want THE BEST yoga mat in the world, it is the B. Mat. I have never had such a grippy yoga mat. I have purchased from Lululemon, Manduka, and Winners, and none of them are as great and as grippy as this yoga mat. You cannot do yoga properly with a cheap, crappy mat, period. You need one that will hold your weight, hold your pose, and let you really lean into the pose without fear (e.g. Downward Dog)

I’m not surprised. I’ve seen the studies that show that earning more than $75 K doesn’t increase happiness but that doesn’t match my experience, I’m definitely happier with millions than when I had much less and it seems to be true for my wealthy friends as well. They definitely act much happier than my middle class and lower income friends. I think because they have more time freedom and more options.

Money beyond a certain point, just buys you freedom and time. I am working for those millions because I want that freedom. My problem is that I don’t know what I want to do with that freedom yet, unlike my partner who knew he wanted to go back to school and study his dream subject. I have nothing like that, no passion or dream. Until I get one, I’ll just keep living my own rich life, working and relaxing, working some more…*shrug*
