How to fold a fitted sheet – The Idiot’s Method (a.k.a. mine)

I have read books, articles, instructions, Youtube videos, and for the life of me, I cannot understand how to fold a fitted sheet so it looks perfect.

And you know what?

So this is my fitted sheet folding method, that works pretty damn well.

It isn’t Martha Stewart perfect, but GOOD ENOUGH is fine for things like this that don’t really matter in the grand scheme of life.

I just want to not have a bloody rolled up ball of fitted sheet-whatever nonsense in the closet, but I am not willing to spend a single second longer on learning how to do this the “right” way..

So here it goes.

1. Lay the fitted sheet out on the floor with the elastic facing up

Basically take the fitted sheet, and arrange it out on the floor or table in as neat of a rectangle as possible.

2. Fold it in half horizontally

Fold it into itself, taking the bottom edge and folding it over to the top edge in half.

3. Fold it in on the left or right to the middle

I liked to now fold in the left side to the middle of the rectangle.

Then I fold in the other right edge over the whole thing to the far left edge to make a neat little bundle.

4. Fold the top down to the middle

It is quite a long rectangle now, and I just fold in the top edge to the middle again to shorten it:

5. Then take the bottom half and fold it over the top

There. Look how neat and nice it looks?

You’re welcome.

Hey, mine end up in a jumble with the matching flat sheet and some pillow cases inside another pillow case, enough for one bedsheet change, and stored up in the top of my closet. I don’t even take the time to fold any of them. No judgment here!

That is exactly what I do, and it is fine. I fold it most easily on top of the made bed.
I never expected an item like this from you, but then I never expected me to reply, either.
People do not dare say you aren’t keeping it real!

*LAUGH*!… I am not really a set topics blogger. I kind of just write whatever I think would be helpful and what I want to read about / google on the internet. I am definitely not Suzy Homemaker, but there are some things I wish I knew how to do like fitted sheet folding…
