Curated Closet Workbook Exercise: Do you like to repeat outfits at all?

What is your stance on repeating outfits?

I don’t hate it but truth be told, I have so many clothes and pieces that I do not need to repeat anything.

If I do repeat an outfit, it is one of two things:

  1. I am lazy. Very lazy, and the outfit is already there, worn the day before, and still clean-ish.
  2. I really like it so much that I cannot imagine wearing it any other way – exact same belt, same outfit…

There are very few outfits I repeat constantly, and they tend to be dresses because dresses are one-look outfit, like this below?

Perfection the way it is. Same belt, everything.

Are you okay with wearing the same head-to-toe look twice in two weeks?

Yes. Not daily, but I can wear it two days in a row (see above regarding laziness).

I may switch up the accessories to be different but not much beyond that.

How about individual pieces?

Yes!

I repeat individual pieces all the time. Staples, mostly, like my high rise dark rinse jeans… or a certain blazer I am currently enamoured with.

Or newer pieces I just got like white distressed jeans…

When I am currently obsessed with something, I wear it constantly like this blazer.

I love the white, the tipped linen… it is perfection.

I also obsess over jewellery items like these rings I made and I will wear them over and over again when I can.

A little about this series:

I am embarking on a 8-week (or longer) excursion to do this exercise from one of my favourite style books – The Curated Closet – and to show you what my Curated Closet Workbook (companion workbook to the actual book) looks like at every step of the way.

Why do this?

Because I know what I like but I have no idea why I like what I do. I just do, and it seems very hodge-podge and all over the place. Being very Type A, I kind of want to pin it down and to know WHY.

I feel like it would help me narrow down my style personas more, and stop me from making bad / stupid shopping mistakes.

Also, I really like reading about these kinds of things from other people. I love it when people go through and talk about their style evolution and why.
