August 2017 Budget Roundup

LOOKING BACK

I can say without a doubt that I have been so busy, I haven’t touched anything blog-wise very much. I started dedicating only every other Saturday to working on the blog because:

A) I need a life. I still need my Mommy Day Off per week and if I spend it WORKING on this blog, I’ll burn out.

B) I still love the blog life… but with a full-time job and wanting to also have a full-time life, I need to make decisions about where my time goes.

My priorities:

  1. Family
  2. Household Chores and Errands
  3. Self-Care
  4. Blog / Need to sell stuff

So… yeah. #4 doesn’t get much play unless I can balance out other parts of my life. Thus far, it looks a bit like this for percentage of hours dedicated to each:

Anyway, need to list this stuff. HAVE TO GET IT DONE… just need to.. do .. it…

Sherry of Save. Spend. Splurge.

I got out of $60,000 of debt in 18 months using TheBudgetingTool.com. Since then, I have worked 50% of my career (taking 1-2 year breaks), and quadrupled my income within 2 years of graduating, going from $65K to $260K (savings rate = 85%). I could retire today if I wanted, but love my work-life balance as a freelancing consultant in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). I also post daily on Instagram @saverspender.
