Minimalist Traveling Wardrobe: How I store my jewellery

I use these beautiful silk (recycled) kimono clutches to store my jewellery.

There’s a large bag to hold it all for when I travel:

These are how they all look (aren’t they just lovely!?)

Each pouch has its own theme..

For instance, the light floral blue on in the bottom left corner is just for my rings. When I want to wear a ring, I reach for that pouch.

The lovely orange flowered one just above the bottom left corner with the contrasting yellow/orange graphic print, is just for my jewellery that has autumn colours or is in gold.

I know by the pouch, what kind of jewellery I stored there, and sometimes I pick a pouch at random, and make an outfit just by deciding to wear a gold-coloured brass collared necklace that day.

These pouches are not only beautiful, they are multi-functional because I can empty them and use them as purses to go out, for an event, and they also make sure my jewellery stays nice and safe, while being contained enough for when I move from place to place.

In an ideal world, they’d all be on display for easy pickin’, but this is the second-best option I’ve come up with because I really hate unpacking and re-packing when I move.

HOW DO YOU STORE YOUR JEWELLERY?

These are lovely, you had me at kimono…I’m a pouch chick, I use them for everything. I organize my purse contents with several pouches (tech in one, personal care in another, receipts in another). When I need to change bags, I just move my pouches. This is a great idea for someone who needs to grab their jewelry and go, it also protects your pieces and would look pretty on a dresser in a basket or tray (or in an open handbag).

I rarely buy cases specifically made for certain objects. I prefer a generic pouch because I know I can always reuse it for other items once that tech or other piece becomes obsolete. I’ve even re-used mini purses as cell phone cases and clutches as a pouch for cords/iPad.

I love these and I want some! I have these bulky cases at home and when I ntravel I have started taking only one set.

That’s such a great idea! I have mostly costume jewelry, which I find I like much better than the “real” stuff. I really enjoy wearing it and don’t feel like I have to worry about it being stolen or lost.

Where do you find your lovely pouches? Did you collect them over time? I’m curious!

Mochimac! I do apologize for not having any jewels at all since you are so fond of them. But I do love the minimalist wardrobe concept. I have a uniform consisting of shorts and a t-shirt which I wear to work out, eat, blog and even work!!! I waste absolutely no time or money on my apparel. I am in and out of the closet as well as the clothing store in seconds and I am always so happy and COMFORTABLE;) Have a sparkly jewel day, M!!!

Wow, so cute (and so many) little purses. They are lovely.

My storage isn’t for travel – actually I usually freak a little when I have to pick stuff when I’m going away! I’m not sure you saw my post, back in the day, but I talk about how I display all my jewellery here: http://wp.me/p30yk2-5S
