I’ll go first, and list my top 3 most expensive wardrobe items because they’re basically all coats.
BURBERRY COTTON TRENCH COAT
$1695 (before taxes)
Purchased in June 2012 and came with two different belts and two different cuffs so you can mix and match.
It was also on sale, believe it or not, as it was originally $1900 or something like that. It was also the last US Size 4 in the whole of Canada.
2nd most expensive:
BURBERRY CASHMERE & WOOL BLACK TRENCH COAT
$1595 (before taxes)
Purchased some time in 2011 before I sold my two blogs, and started this one in 2012!
It was NOT on sale.
(This coat alone cost about the same amount of money as my first car!!)
3rd most expensive:
CANADA GOOSE TRILLIUM JACKET – $650
Purchased in September 2012 after I finally caved in to the reality that is the Canadian winter.
Then it goes down to (I think) $678 for my cognac m0851 perfecto leather jacket, $400 for a sweater, $350 for a vintage Cole Haan laptop bag, you know.. still expensive stuff.
Hmm. I should really tally up what everything in my wardrobe costs, out of curiousity.
So I think it’s safe to say I am not conventionally frugal when it comes to clothes, and I am willing to drop good coin on high quality items not made in China.
What’s the most money you’ve ever spent on a piece of clothing that is still in your closet?
(P.S. This is meant to be fun. Please don’t slag me in the comments.)
