The Scent of Departure

This is pretty cool. As a huge fan of traveling, but not on perfumes in general, this is making me reconsider!

The Scent of Departure concocted by Globetrotter perfumer Gérald Ghislain and Magali Sénéquier (designer), captures each city’s smell, although I am sure they made it a lot more romantic than literal ‘smells of the city’ (e.g. NYC has sparkling and sourish notes of apple instead the smell of car exhaust fumes and pee).

I’d be interested in smelling these, if I ever came across them. What a smart idea of marketing perfume!

  1. Very interesting!!! If I saw something like that I’d definitely want it as a remembrance.. I love associating scents with memories.

When I was younger I remember having this lotion that I used to smell when I was obsessed with Justin Timberlake. I somehow ended up thinking that JT smelled like that. I was in teeny-bopper heaven!

oh I like that! When I was in Amsterdam I was like, “what is that smell??” and then I realized it was flowers haha. Flowers EVERYWHERE. Brussels smelled like french fries and waffles. Frankfurt smells like… money.
